So I posted an album called plastic surgery and you can see the password is newme (all one word).  I am abviously concerned.  My PS saw it the next day and said that it was necrosis and dead and would fall off.  What happens?  She said I couldn't do anything to help or hurt and we would just wait and see.

It's driving me nuts!

I had tissue necrosis, but it looked different than yours.  I had a dry, thick black scab type of "thing".  The plastic surgeon debrided the area and there was a deep hole underneath.  I had to irrigate and pack it with sterile saline gauze twice a day.  He told me it would heal from the bottom up and the sides would close in.  I had to wear compression garments until it healed.

It took about 2 months to heal and it closed this week.  You can see pictures of the open wound if you click on my picture or name.  I don't have pictures of what it looked like before he took the "scab" off.

I'm older (62) if that has anything to do with it??  It was a "pain" to take care of, but now that it's over, it wasn't that bad.  I have a scar but I don't want any revison as I don't plan to "bare" my belly anyway.

I did increase my protein intake to 130 gm a day (for tissue healing), increased Vit C, B vits.  I made sure to get 8 hours minimum sleep - again for healing.  No caffeine.  Ate healthy - mostly raw, whey isolate protein, 100+ oz fluid, etc. for optimum healing.

If  you have other questions, let me know.  Penny

How much skin (#) did she remove?

I'm calling Dr. MacRae tomorrow to schedule my consult!

I haven't had plastics yet, but the surgeon was worried about this bc of a previous surgery. He said its tissue where no blood supply could get to so its dead and will fall off.

I'm not sure why it happened to you but sounds like your doc wants to wait and see what it does.
