I had BL with aug,  facelift and eye done (all at the same time) with Dr S.   The first 2 days in clinic I had and IV with pain medication. That was it!     After,  I had   NO  pain medication and I am 57 yrs old. This was my first EVER surgery and everything went very well  :)

Carla,
I think because we are nurses we feel we need to tough it out.  I finished my pain meds on day 18 because I ran out.  I was on it every 6 hrs.  I knew I was going to run out and that I would probably need more but I didn't want to ask for a new script.  He asked about my pain, I told him I was going to run out at 2 weeks and he didn't offer.  I think I'm paranoid about asking for additional pain meds.  I have quite a few patients who abuse pain meds so I think it makes me feel bad to ask.  I don't want to be looked at like that even if it is legit.  A few bad apples ruin it for us.
I'm on Tylenol but it does nothing for me.  I have pain off and on but I'm dealing with it.  I'm going back to work on Monday and cannot be on pain meds anyway.

Thanks to all of you.
Yes each of us have different pain tolerances and different procedures but all similar in nature.  I have just decided to take them if I need them.  I don't need them much but if I do I will take some like this AM, I have pressure and I think gas pains under my ribs and my back is aching from my new posture "imagine that".  I hold myself up straight where my pannis used to pull me forward.

I am just so freakin happy with my surgery .  I don't like any meds but Tylenol will be my next move.

It is so nice to have all of you to talk to about stuff.
