Hey everyone!  I love reading this forum really appreciate your posts and pics.  I hope to add to the database soon (ok so I'm a little nervous...)   I'm doing pre-op testing for TT and LBL and had an ekg 2 days ago @ 47.  I'm no athlete but I do exercise 3x /wk on average and have no hx of heart problems or HBP.  So I saw a cardiologist and had another ekg which was 58.  After a full exam he said I'd be fine for surgery.  I'm having a treadmill test on Monday just to be safe.  So my question is this ---> Has anyone else experienced a slower resting heart rate, low ekg or sinus bradycardia since WLS?  I'd love to hear your thoughts and experience.  Thanks!

I am on a beta blocker and a calcium channel blocker so my heart never over works.  But since wls and lossing 170+ pounds my pulse rate runs really low too.  My PCP often asks me if I am dizzy at times.  I am not dizzy and I feel fine.

After my sugery last week July 28 the nurses were freaking out and upping my IV fluids to raise my blood pressure lol.  I think I was running 88/42 and averaging 96/50.  I left the hospital with a B/P of 110/60 which is my new normal and my pulse was 58 which seems to be my new pulse.

If your cardiologist says your ok then trust him.  My cardio rocks and I trust him with my heart.  I do however have to blockages that we believe are shrinking on their own since WLS.

Good luck, keep us updated.

I have bradycardia, had it hmm.. not sure how long.  My wls's office told me on my consult.  I was a 34 waking up from wls, and a 26 during plastics.  Just the way my ticker works.  I don't work out, so it's not that.  I also have a heart murmur.  I've done all the tests, all seems well.

I take meds for heart arrythmia.  It is under control.  My  plastic surgeon wanted me to be in an acute care hospital - just in case.  I had no problems.

I had weight loss surgery, and I still dont exercise normally, so I am no athelete and I have a slow heart rates in the 40's.  Everytime I fall asleep when I am in the hospital for anything, they rush in and wake me up and tell me to breathe, even though I am breathing, its normal for me.
