New to Plastics forum but not new to OH

I just found out yesterday that I am going to have  abdominoplasty this Monday, August 8th !!!!
I have always thought about it but never thought I would be able to afford it.  I am a military spouse but the MTF we go to did not have a plastic surgeon until a couple of weeks ago due to deployments etc.
I went to a consult yesterday, everything just happened so quickly that I cannot believe I will be having my surgery!!!
Any suggestions that anyone can offer will be greatly appreciated.

Thanks..

I had my TT last week at my local MTF too- and it happened quickly also! We are in a different place than most people doing plastics because we don't get to do multiple consults, or see before and afters, or read testimonials. I gotta say, I was scared ****less, but I have recovery to be easy, and think the military plastic surgeon did an outstanding job! You will be fine! Is hubby taking leave post op? are they doing inpatient?

I am still loving life with my sleeve! Been maintaining at or below goal for over 4 years!

Good to hear about the recovery being easy for you. Hubby is on leave for a couple of weeks and the kids haven't went back to school yet.  Believe it or not, my surgery is outpatient!! I was totally shocked. I think that is more scary than the surgery itself. I would at least like to be there overnight.
I haven't read your profile yet. What branch of the military are you? We are Army but live on an Air Force base in Ohio.

They usually do outpatient here also. They kept me as a favor because of my little ones, lol. We are Marine Corps but hubby is stationed at an air base, and I had surgery at an Army base (west point)..

Good that hubby has leave- I really needed my huhbby's help to get up and down the first few days.. I am excited for you!

I'm three and a half weeks post TT with muscle tightening, panni, lipo, BA, lipo of "Side boob" Recovery has been easier than I thought it was going to be. I had an amazing surgeon and call him my miracle man! I found it most helpful to have my house completely ready before I went in for surgery. Lots of pillows since you can't lie flat for awhile. Still not flat myself. Some type of chair you can bring into the shower with you. I needed for about the first week or two. Lots of elastic waist pants. I couldn't wear underwear my first week. Anything that's tight or rides at where my incisions are was uncomfortable. I'm still in yoga pants! I filled my cupboards with protein bars and shakes that I loved. Didn't feel like eating hardly at all in the beginning so it's helpful to have high protein foods around so when you do eat your munching on things to help you heal and get your strength back. Make sure you have lots of your favorite fluids near by too. Remember to rest! I wish you the best of luck and a speedy recovery. Come back to the forum and let us know how it went! And welcome to the super hot hotties club!
