New and want your opinion

Hi,  I am from MN and was wondering I would like to get a tummy tuck, boob job, and arms done.  I am thinking about winter time to do this.  I want to get it all done at once, because of my job.  I do daycare and can't take more than a week off.  I am planning on taking a full week off then having kids again, for the first week of being back to work my hubby will be with me and the 2nd week I will have my MIL with me.  Do you think after 3 weeks I would be able to be on my own with the kids?  I just know I won't be able to do a surgery here and a surgery there I need it all done at once.

Any feed back would be great.

Thanks,

Marsha

I had a TT and arms done last fall.

NO WAY could I have gone back to work at 1 week - particularly a pretty physical job like daycare.  For one, I was on lifting restriction for 6 weeks (nothing over 5lbs).

My surgeon wouldn't do all three of those surgeries at once - he won't keep you under for more than 4-5 hours, which apparently is a TT and one other thing.

Personally, no I don't think that timeline is possible. That's a lot of work and if you get a surgeon to do it all at once you're looking at a long recovery. If anything you're going to be very tired and not able to stay awake the entire day let alone take care of  kids at only 1 week out. I had an LBL & brachio and was cleared to go back to work at 4 weeks to a desk job and boy did that wear me out. Also you may still have drains in at that time and you wouldn't want any of the little ones to pull on one of those. Also you'll have lifting restrictions.

I'd say no. I just had a brachio and needed two full weeks off. I felt good after a few days post procedure, but I am still not 100%. this is my first week back at work and I am dogasstired! I'm also aching a lot more than normal...and this is just with the arms done and not a strenuous job.

Hate to chime in with more bad news but I hear alot of surgeons will not combine the arms with most other plastic surgeries. I will be four weeks out post Tummy tuck/lipo/muscle tightening/panni/breast augmentation/lipo of "side boob" and just returned to work this week for a maximum of 4-5 hours only four days a week. I work at a dental office up front at the desk and it's been EXTREMELY hard on me. By hour three I am swollen, in pain, and exhausted. I come home and take pain meds, put frozen bags of veggies in my pants to help the swelling and pain and sleep! I have two children of my own ages 8 and 5. They are either with Nana or daycare the whole day so when I get home I can rest. Like I said this is week four for me. Sorry to be a downer but you are going to need time for YOU! Time to heal, get your strength back, and be taken care of. Best of luck to you and I hope you can find a way to make this all work for you! Let us know how it goes!

I went back to work after 2 weeks but I have a very light job physically.  You don't say what age group you have but I'd say no, regardless.  You won't feel good until the 3rd or 4th week, in my experience.

And I haven't done my arms yet so I'm not sure how limited your mobility would be on that...

Best of luck to you!!!

I only had a tummy tuck, but was told to stay off my feet as much as possible for 2 weeks, also no stretching or bending, and no lifting over 5 lbs for 4-6 weeks. Also, with my tummy I compensated a lot with my arms, so I would think w both a once recovery would be hard. I can't imagine any plastic surgery (maybe breast implants alone?) where you could work at a week out. Sorry! Maybe you could hire someone for a month?

With everything you want to have done at once, I think a week is way too little time to recover. You won't feel like doing much at all after just a week. Maybe at 3 weeks you'd feel up to having kids on your own but it's really a crapshoot. The more procedures you have done at once, the longer the recovery takes. I was still wanting naps everyday at 3 weeks out. It takes awhile to regain your strength and energy after plastics, especially if you combine procedures.

1 week no way. I'm having Circumferential lift and arms done and surgeon wants me off 4-6 weeks, I'm taking 7!

The risk of complications is high enough just sitting at home taking care of yourself. I would not risk it.

I agree with everyone else. Not just no, but heck no. No lifting, no bending, exhaustion, etc. I'm 5 weeks out now and am just now able to bend halfway over. If you're honest with your surgeon about wanting to work a week after surgery, I doubt he would even do it knowing that. I'm taking 7 weeks off and teach high school. I'm still worried about overdoing it when I go back.
