bad night

I couldn't sleep last night initially due to a headache.  I ran out of pain meds last evening and wanted to wait to start taking Tylenol until morning due to the Tylenol content in my pain meds.  I had been sleeping on my recliner and sometimes for a short while on my side on my couch.  I had been waking up a few times a night due to having to go the bathroom which is normal for me but I would take pain meds a couple times and go back to sleep.  I had this terrible headache.  I have had more headaches since having plastics than had since my RNY.  Unfortunately we can't take Motrin. So at 5am I got sharp shooting nerve pains in my left breast ot my nipple every few seconds for 2 hrs.  I finally took some children's chewable Tylenol since I can't swallow larger pills.  I went up to my bed and fell asleep for 2 hrs.  Now I'm up with my giant lab puppy and the shooting nerve pain is back in my breast.  I've seen that these pains are common on this board.  My nipples are numb so I bet things are just trying to wake up.  Has anyone else had this recently?  I'm a nurse but this is not my specialty.

I too was having super sharp pains mostly in the incision area from my breast life/augment. Everyone was telling me its the nervous rejuvenating themselves and feeling is coming back! When they come for that minute I feel like the sharp pain is literally gonna kill. The Dr. told me to take my Valium when I have any type of muscle contraction or too many sharp pains! Can you take a muscle relaxer? So sorry you had such a bad night...how many weeks post op are you? Hope you are feeling better soon and keep healing and take good care of yourself!

I would definately call the doctor for this.  You might not be ready to stop your pain meds from one nurse to another.   I was streching my out lol and the surgeon told me I like to suffer so I actually started taking them the way he ordered and now I feel so much better.

My surgeon told me that alot of PS pts need pain meds up to 3-4 weeks and if taken correctly no addiction will occur.

Hope you get better soon hun.

Carla, thanks for sharing that info.  That's good to know.  I'm sure I would be like you and try to stretch them out and suffer.  LOL.  How are you doing, hon?

Jenny I think I am doing good.  I am impatient though lol.  I am ready to live.  I will soon have 200 pounds total lost cause I am losing again and I get to add the just under 15 pounds of skin they took off me to the total whooooohoooo.

I just saw myself naked for the first time without my binder on cause I got mine wet and had to change it to a dry one lol (again impateint).  OMG I am impressed with what the general and PS did for me.  They kept in in the grey area so my insurance would pay and I am so happy.

I have gone 8 hours without pains meds and just started hurting so I just took 2 because taking a shower, shaving legs and washing hair then switching out binders was a lot of work and moving around so I am good for now.
