I'm 7 days post op arm lift and full tummy tuck, when my arms start itching i swear i almost go insane . Last night I popped 5 benadryls (yeah i know) still didn't stop it or make me sleepy. I'm still in ace bandages my incisions around my crotch start to itch at night as well but gentle rubbing takes care of that area , but my arms, I found myself sticking ice cubes in the ace band* it helped. What have you done and how long does this last???? I feel Ike a crack head. I don't see my surgeon until wed. so I'm still not able to take a shower or I would be standing in there right know with the cold water running.

**knock on wood**

I haven't had a lot of itching...only a little at night because I still do ace bandages at night. I have the wraps on now and it's itchy...but manageable.

I did some some cortisone anti itch cream..I wonder if using that will help?

Do you lotion your arms? I am just taping and using compressions, but I make sure to lotion/moisturize, use bacitracin on my the scars and then tape. It seems to give it more moisture.

I went through this too, we all do. Sometimes its from the narcotic you are using for pain. Sometimes its from the steri strips, sometimes its from the tubing from your drains. And sometimes its from your anti biotic.  While it is normal to have the itchies, mine were to the point of anxiety and 4 nights of hell. I would fall asleep to the point of exhaustion.

I tried Benadryl, no luck, corizone cream helped a little. In my case the itching was from the drains' hose . But he also took me off the antibiotic incase it was from that. He gave me a perscription (can't remember the name) but it helped! And I got back my sleep!!!!!!  It seems to happen to me at night, so I take the pill as needed.

Hang in there,

I'm 6 months out from my tummy tuck. I had problems with itching in the beginning. It was due to dry skin. I was advised to keep the insicision moist with vasoline or aquaphor.

the itching is HeaLING, DO NOT PUT ANYTHING  on your arms till u see Dr. Lam, they will itch more at night cause your body temp is hot, try and stay cool/cold they wont itch as much if your body is cool.. u will feel like a million bucks when he takes the ace bandages off & steri strips n u can shower., what pain medicine are u on , Percocet?.
I feel for u I know owhorrible that itching can be, tomorrow it will be all over.
I saw your other post it is so hard to tell what ur belly will look like cause it is still swollen, u cant look at it 4 days post op & think u need a revision, mine was swollen also , it takes a good 6 months or sol to see the final results then if it is stsill like that then talk to Dr. Lam,
GOOD LUCK tomorrow
