How dramatically did your pant size change post LBL? Just trying to see how much I'm going to have to budget for clothes!! LOL! I currently wear a 16 bottom. Is there hope I'll see a 14 or even, gasp, a 12 after??

Thanks guys!!

It seems to vary greatly. 1-3 sizes smaller seems to be the average range. Right now due to swelling, I still am bigger than pre-op, dang it!!

I'm hoping I go down one size.

I think it depends on how you carry your weight, and how much skin you have.  I went from a 10 pre-plastics to afterwards wearing a loose 8, and many 6's.

It did take a few months for the swelling to go down, and my surgeon warned me not to buy any new pants until at least 12 weeks after surgery because it would take that long to start to see final results.

I had a fleur de lis abdominoplasty not a LBL.  While still in abdominal binder I couldn't get any button waist pants on (in current size).  When I went into compression garments at one month post op - I could get into my current size jeans.

When surgeon did TT - he did significant body sculpting at waist - took 4 inches off!  Now my current pants are loose, especially in waist.  I'm 2 months post op.  I'm not thinking of changing sizes.  I still have some belly swelling and I understand that can go on for a year - so currently staying in same size and I'm happy with what I now wear.

Denise - I am almost 6 weeks out from an LBL.  Changing pants sizes really will depend on a few things.  First - where you carry the most skin at - I was/still am pear shaped and while they took some from my waist, etc. my hips are still the same measurement.  Secondly, like several persons have said - it depends on how much and how long your swelling is.

I tried on capris, pants, skirts, etc. yesterday and now I am a smaller size in the waist than hips so I'll be taking in anything that I purchase at the waist.

I'm only three weeks post TT with muscle tightening and level 3 lipo, BA and lipo of "side boob", thighs pulled up as well. And I am living in my yoga pants! Actually should have bought more of those for post surgery than anything else. I can get my post plastic jeans on and buttoned, they are loose...but they fall where my incisions lie and was told by surgeon to only wear sweatpants and elastic waist pants for a minimum of six weeks. I tried them on just to see how they fit! Due to the swelling (which I still have a lot of) I'm not sure where I'll fall once its gone down. At least a size it seems already!

I'm almost 6 weeks out and I tried on my clothes today without a binder and anything with a waistband still tight. I was size 6-8 before the surgery. I tried on all my fitted dresses and they're all loose at the waist. finally I  tried on a pair of capri that have some stretch and they fit with the binder on- they're a size 8. I still have swelling of course but I see the 8's no longer fitting. The ^'s are fitting a little snug.. I think I'll be able to move down to a 4 when all said and done.
