my tummy looked almost distended for the first month and a half. The swelling seemed to be coming from within.. thats how it appeared at least. My tummy flattened completely out as i healed and is very tight. Still when i get full or bloated, i do sort of look like im in my first trimester of pregnancy, very tight and round, lol. I'm ok with that, it happens very rarely. I am 7 months out now and my scars are almost vanished. Dont sweat the healing process, i did and my doctor literally told me to relax, that the process was a little 'like watching paint dry' -- and he was correct. Your body will change and adapt very slowly and then one day youll wake up and be astonished by your pretty new flat belly :)

I'm four days since my full Tummy Tuck and Brachio plasty. Not in much pain at all.  The only trouble I've experience is my drain tube has slits in it. called on call surgeon and he said just keep it clean and wrap with tape till Monday. What I am concerned about is maybe I didn't lose enough weight? when the DH changed my binder to wash the original one my tummy looks round not flat at all not even at the top. I know there is "some" swelling but the only carnage i feel is the panni is gone and I'm still going to need a revised tummy tuck. Did anyone else feel this way? Is it the pain meds making me think crazy (so I hope). Shed some light.
I had my surgery March 3rd.....Upon awakening from surgery I was super flat and at home until my 1 JP drain came out on day 6, then I started to puff...........I usually bloat mid-cycle and yes since my huge pannus is gone there is a major difference.....

I am now 5 months out and my tummy is no longer super flat like post-op day 1............I was 168 day of surgery, dropped to 160 then went on a 3 month carbohydrate and narcotic spree trying to cope with pain in upper back, neck and shoulders and a tear in my left shoulder from the stress of my long breasts that need to be reconstructed.....

so I gained 29 pounds....i have lost 11 back and I am now at 178 with a round puffy tummy.........my RNY DR...says that now that I  turned 40 (July 1st)...for my height, and frame I need to be 132 pounds so I now need to lose 46 pounds to get to goal weight of being normal and not obese!

That is my goal now to get that weight off and have my breasts, arms, thighs, and revised TT done...I was warned that may be necessary but the panni gone makes a huge difference still!

My left abdomen drain tube cam out yesterday as well...ugh * i think he is going to have to stitch it because it want gash want stop bleeding. but i bent over and there is still some skin i think could have been tightening or cut higher up. I did vomit 2X's first day hope that didn't mess things up.

just try and be patient and tak it easy!......I only had 1 JP drain and it came out at day 6 formed a scab and healed nicely....hen unexpectedly at my 6 week checkup I was showering for the appt. and it started back to bleed kind of bad so the doc put some silver nitrate on it...

keep it clean and dry and apply pressure if needed to the site...neosporin with pain relief gel is a GOD send!

I know about the hnging skin...I am not totally flat how I was 5 months ago when I woke up from surgery but now I am told by my doc that I need to lose an additional 46 pounds to get to goal!.......................so my journey continues..I may need  revision so as ususal......1 day at a time!...................I wish you much success.....you will be fine! and more beautiful!

BG I'm actually going to look into possibly getting a band over my pouch. I know the Barix does do it.

I'm three weeks out post TT with muscle tightening, level three lipo, BA with lipo and I am STILL very VERY swollen. Dr. said give it a minimum of six weeks before any of the swelling will go down. Don't stress. Your body just underwent a HUGE change and surgery. We're going to be swollen for a while. Remember its the end result that matters. Make sure your giving yourself lots of rest and time to heal. Take it easy and in no time we'll be loving our flat bellies!

I'm 17 days out from my anchor TT and I'm pretty flat.  I have a little bit of swelling but I think my belly looks sweet.  I had a huge belly and pannus at my largest.  He took 10lbs off my upper belly and pannus with my TT.  I also had lipo on my hips/legs.  I still have swelling from the lipo.  Just wear your binder or compression garments and follow his directions!  Jodi

I'm 9 weeks post LBL and often look a couple of months pregnant by the end of the day.  I'm told this type of swelling is normal and can last a looooooonnnnnnnngggggggg time.
