Breast Lift--did you lose lots of volume?

So the surgeon said he'd do a BL at the time of my LBL. I'm hesitant because I don't want to lose a lot of cup size, but he said he didn't think I would. Do you find you are still in the same cup size post BL?

Would you do it again?

Thanks!

Before my RNY I wore a 50DDD bra. Before my breast lift, I wore a 34DDD, but it was all skin, not much tissue left. I'm suspecting I'll be a B or C cup when all my swelling goes down. He said he did the best he could to save emy breast tissue. I'm thrilled with my lift, but do plan to get implants in the future.

I just can't even wrap my head around all the procedures that we could do if money/time off from work and family would allow for. I'm actually amazed that folks are willing to go back in after the pain and recovery process. Gives me hope. Dr. Kreiger did say he does not want to do implants at the time of the lift because that can leave some very unsightly nipple issues later. I was a 46DDD and now I'm a 38ishDD most of which is tissue vs. skin. He did not seem concerned about my losing the volume part, but then again, he probably knows if I do I'll be back for some implants!! Really I just want to look balanced. Not going for Barbie...just normalish. I guess I could just plan for the LBL/BL butt fat deal now and then address the thighs and possible implants later. I'm also REALLY torn about the arms. UGH! So much to think about. Throw in crazy marriage stuff and my head is spinning! I hope I hit the lottery. Wait, I have to play to do that, don't I? LOL!

Thanks again!

Hey,

I had a TT and breast lift last October.  I had originally planned to have implants at the same time but the PS talked me out of it and boy was he right.

My breasts were mostly skin and hung way down like a pair of tube socks.  He did a key type surgery and I am very pleased with the results.  I do not have a lot of fullness/cleavage above my nipples.  Just above (sloping to my nipples) and at my nipple line and below I am pretty full and firm.

Pre weight loss (82 lbs), I was a 42-44 D.  Post weight loss-36 D.  I am still a 36 D but firmly fill the cup.  I can wear a strapless top when I want without falling out of it.

Also, for me pain-wise, it was a piece of cake.

Hope this helps and good luck.  I don't regret mine one bit.

Thanks!!! That is very reassuring. Folks don't seem to suffer too badly with the breast work. Yay!!!

I agree. Breast work has been by far the easiest recovery for me.

I am exactly the same size after my breast lift.  They look 100% better though!  Very happy with that part of my surgery!!!

I was a 58 DDD at my largest.  I was a 38 D before my plastics.  I would tell you though that a lot of that was skin.  I wanted the lift and implants at the same time as my TT to save on anesthesia time/time off/cost etc.  My surgeon told me that if I wanted volume after my lift, then implants would fix that.  I really wanted a full C.  I'm probably a D right now.  I also had lipo to the sides of my breasts.  They look great.  I'm really glad I did it all at the same time. The other thing to think about is every time they open you back up you get scar tissue.

I just had a LBL and BL on the 20th and I had your same worry!!  Many years ago I was a 42DDD (prob actually bigger, that that was the largest bras I could find at the time - early 90s).  I had a Breast Reduction in '96 that took me to a 42C a very full C - but I LOVED them.  When I had my RNY in 12/08 I was worried what would happen to them.  My weight had fluctuated up and down since the reduction and I was about 65lbd heavier and in 44D's - but they were still pretty awesome  LOL

I made it down to 135lbs and my beauties melted into saggy chest pancakes with nipples..  Pre BL I was wearing 32D's, but the D was just to have a big enough container to keep them from slopping out the sides.  They didn't even fill the cups half full.

My PS swore that I had enough to have great breasts, but I had my doubts.  I have NEVER had boobs smaller than a C cup - I totally skipped training bras in HS.Well,  I'm now almost 2 weeks out from my surgery and convinced my PS is a mircle worker!!  He did a pretty sever lift, was able to keep my nipple in place (they still have sensation even!) and with the procedure he used of tucking in the excess skin and using hole drilled into my ribs to secure the tissue up - they look AMAZING!

I am wearing some old 36D bras during recovery and they fill them out beautifully.  Once the little bit of swelling goes down - I should be in a 32/34 C at a minimum.  I didn't want implats - and I really don't think i'll need them.

I have some early post-op pics on my profile if you want to see.  You need to be a friend and the password is plastic.

Wow! That is quite a story. So cool that you are not going to need implants. I'll send a friend request so I can take a peek. I love all these stories. Makes me hopeful for my own story. I can't wait until next monday to see what the 3rd doc says. All these different techniques they use are amazing.

Thanks again for your time!!

Denise
