I have this hard knot...
Hi Everyone...
I have noticed that I have this hard knot in two places about an inch below my incision line on each side of my tummy about where my ovaries would be...It's about 2 inches long and as hard as a rock...they are both very tender..NOT red, but hard and tender...Have any of you had/have this...
Do you know what it could be...?
I go Wednesday to see my surgeon...but I was hoping some of you have already experienced this and that you know what it is...I'm a little concerned.
Thanks...

I had something similar on one of my incision line. I had hyped myself up thinking it was a hematoma or busted sutures. Doc said it was normal.
Definitely contact the doc..but I bet It's normal. Any pain? Mine was just very tender. Now a week later, the spots are there, but not nearly as hard and not tender.

I have a marble-sized lump directly under one of my breast lift incisions. My doctor said it's common and probably fat that has hardened. His nurse told me to massage the area with cocoa butter. It's getting smaller. I am going to go in this week to get some stiches cut out that are bugging the bejeezus out of me and will have them look at it then.

I had a similiar area on my arm, it was fluid filled and drained twice. It was really tender and kind of soft- mushy.
I have had a few stitches work their way to the surface. Some just poke through and I can pull them up with tweezers. I have other ones that swell up, skin gets red - I never see the suture and it goes away. I have something that burns under my Left armpit today that I assume is a suture, but can't see it with a hand mirror.
I assume we have to deal with this suture issue for awhile???

I have some hard areas also in my belly that are also tender. I assume it is just swelling. I'm sure it will go down. I would jus****ch for redness, drainage or fever. You should mention it to the doc when you see him to make you feel better. Being a nurse myself, I always tell my patients to ask and not sit and worry about things.
