I'm 5 weeks out from lbl and bl. for those of you who had a lbl, how long was it until you could sleep comfortably on your side? I'm still sleeping in a reclined position, but hate sleeping on my back. I desperately want to be able to sleep on my side, but it is still uncomfortable to do so.

Just curious.....

Laura, how are you sleeping on your back?!?  I still can't lay on my back due to the butt augmentation....it feels like there are giant rocks on the top of my ass or something!  It is slowly getting better.

I think I've been sleeping on my side for several weeks now (am 9 weeks out).....at least 2 or 3 weeks like a normal person.  Before that I would sleep on my side, but with a TON of pillows so that my hips kind of floated in the air (laid on pillows with a gap at the hips) and was doing that maybe 4 weeks out?

Funny how we're so different.

My butt augmentation does hurt, but I lie on a fluffy pillow and recline so the weight is distributed somewhat evenly along my backside.

I think i will try lying on my side with pillows propped under my waist and maybe between my knees. I think if I could actually get a good night's sleep, I will get my energy back more quickly!!

Have you tried sleeping on your stomach yet?  I could do this for short bursts around a month out and it slowly increased to where I sleep on it fine, now.  I just had to lower myself (using my arms) slowly.

Laura,
I would slide alot while on my back, even with knees propped up. I am 3weeks and 2 days out. And since last friday I have been sleeping on my side, feels odd, but I am doing it. Make sure to lay on your side with a pillow under you to support your sides from the gap from the waist.
Just be prepared for that awkawardness initially.

Good Luck,

I slept on my side early out...like 2 to 3 weeks or so...but only partly.  I propped myself like you prop a baby when they lie on their side so they won't roll on their back.  I kinda stuffed a pillow behind me and was half on it and half on my side and as time went on I rolled further and further to the side.  Make sense?

I don't have an answer, just chiming in to say I WISH I could sleep on my side too!! I didn't get a Butt Aug and I am still sleeping in my recliner (we put it in the bedroom right next to the bed). I can't sleep on my stomach because it puts too much pressure on my ribs (they hurt most from being drilled into as support beams for the boob lift LOL)

I am two weeks out today from my LBL/BL and I was just able to find a comfortable way to sit out on the couch yesterday.

My PS had my 2 lowewr drains coming out of my hips (vs the mons) so side sleeping wasn't an option as long as they were still in. I got them both removed monday and have been trying to work out a way to sleep on my side..

But hubby and I are both worried that if I try to side-sleep right now I may injure myself because I am a tossy-turny type sleeper. We figure I'm safer in the recliner for a few more nights. LoL

Unfortunately, I remember it being about 2 months out before I was really comfortable on my sides.  I would at times be able to roll over from my back some but not all the way, then kind of prop a pillow behind my back to help.  This helps alot w/the butt aug pain, it seemed to bother me more (& still does) than anything. I'm now @ 3 months out & can sleep very comfortably, still hurts if I lay on my back w/the butt aug tho, feels like I have bowling bowls down there!

Hi Laura - I'm six weeks out of LBL and getting comfortable to sleep has been a challenge!  I now am finally able to sleep on my side for a few hours at a time before it gets uncomfortable.  I am very careful turning from back to side, etc. and tend to lift up rather than rolling too much - I guess I am still worried about healing etc.  Hope you are able to get comfortable soon!
