Open wound 4 weeks out

I am sooooooo depressed! My recovery was going so well until this week. The other night I was shifting myself in bed. I must not have lifted up my butt before shifting and I ripped a hole in my lbl incision. It's in the small of my back and getting worse. Right now it's a little bigger than a dime. My doctor said I may have to come in and get stapled on either side of the open part to try to prevent it from getting worse.

I just wanted to post this as a warning to others behind me to be careful. Open wounds are no fun!!

I'm sorry to hear about that Laura!!!
I know you're disappointed. Hang in there, hopefully it will heal quickly since you are young and healthy.
I'll keep you in my prayers.

I'm so sorry Laura, you were doing so well.  I can't imagine how painful that musta been ripping it open.  That was a big fear of mine but I think I'm pretty much healed except for 3 spots that still have scabs on them.

Keep your chin up and it can only get better.

Lori, I think I'm only a week behind you and thought I was completely healed, too. Just don't over-do it!!

I'm trying not too Laura.  You get feeling better though and you almost forget what you can't do.  There was a cpl times where I moved the wrong way and was like....oh crap that hurt and it was a bit of a reality check for me.

How absolutely frustrating!!!!! Thanxs for sharing, I have so much energy and proud of all I can do, I maybe asking for trouble. And all you did was shift in bed. And was just thinking to myself this morning after my "first Shower", "Gee I feel wonderful, maybe I'll go back earlier." Now, I think I'll bring it down a notch.
Thanks again for updating,

Laura!
I'm so sorry!
I know how you feel I'm 5 weeks out and still dealing with wounds, one drain, necrosis, etc. I try to tell myself that it was major sugery and try to be careful. I'm still wearing a binder while I know others are not this far out.
