One week out from LBL/BL today

I had my LBL/BL last Wednesday (7/20) with Dr Peter Fisher here in San Antonio.  Other than some crappy nurses at the hospital (Methodist Specialty & Transplant) and itching, everything is going great!

I was under for about 9.5 hours, but the anesthesiologist was great and I woke up alert and quick and didn't even have a sore throat!  I had 4 drains (1 in ea hip and 1 in ea breast).  The breast ones were removed Monday and the other 2 might be out as soon as this Friday - Monday at the latest.

I am 5'4" and was 150lbs (sz 10) when I went in for the surgery.  I had been down to 135 last year, but these past few months have been so super stressful, that I gained the 15lb the surgeon warned me would happen at the 2 year mark  :(  I weighed myself yesterday and was at 146lb with the swelling.  I haven't been wearing any clothing, other than a Bra and binders, so I'm not sure how any clothes will fit yet.  But I bought several pairs of sz Lg stretchy pants and will probably be wearing them after the last drain is pulled.  I take that back - I did try on a pair or regular undies and they fit smooth!!!  I've had to wear granny-pannies forever since they were the only kind that would fit all the rolls.

My PS took off about 7lbs of skin, but it's hard to really tell how I'll look because I am so swollen still.  I was looking at the before and after pics that I took (will post soon) and I had more hip/waist definition before the surgery.  He assures me that will come back in a few weeks and I trust him.. But it's hard when you don't see 100% immediate results  LOL

I was really worried about my Boobs being too small after the lift, but so far they seem to be OK and are filling out a 34D bra.  I'll be OK if they shrink after the swelling to full C , but anything smaller and I'll be a lil pouty...  The bra I'm wearing now is one I wore before the surgery, but because they were so liquidy, they didn't fill out the cups at all.  I had to but the D's because they leaked out of the C's

Well, that's all for now - I'm just checking in.  I'm going back to reclining in my recliner that I have been in about 22 hours a day since the surgery...  Cabin fever has already set in bad!!  LOL

Glad to hear everything went well Melinda.  I'm coming up on 6 weeks out from my LBL.  Just relax and let the healing begin.

Sounds like you're doing great!
I surprised myself too with the weight, as i was stress eating 2 weeks prior to surgery and picked up 5 pounds, but thankfully my first weigh in at home and I was  back to my goal weight!  I am 17 days post op, and I have tried my old clothes Tuesday, and much to my delight certain bottoms will need t
o be replaced! sounds like more shopping ahead for me!!! Darn!

Keep up your protien, rest and heal. A few post ops have had hiccups after weeks of doing so well, its a great reminder that this is major surgery and as much as we want to being back to normal, we need tp pace ourselves.

Thanks all!

I am doing my best to get rest - but Im just so restless already  LOL  I even had my husband bring me the laundry I did before the surgery and didn't get put away.  I had him dump it all out on the bed so I could fold and put stuff on hangers.  He had to put it all away since I can't bend to the drawers or reach up to the closet poles...  But it felt good to just do something.

Which is soooo not my usual, I'm usually the one pushing the domestic work off on him... So he didn't really mind the help  LOL
