5 week pics up and a little disappointed

You look great

I try to focus on how good I look IN CLOTHES!.  That the "me" everyone else sees.  I will probably never be happy with how I look naked!  I'm 62 years old and would be sagging anyway - even without the massive weight loss.

I am healthier, more active, have more energy, less aches and pains.  I am a good role model and live a healthy lifestyle.  I eat healthy.

I like the number on the scale.

I do "look" in the mirror while getting in and out of the shower - and cringe a little, but when the clothes go on - I look good.  My value comes from who God says I am - I have good self esteem.

I could spend $100,000 at Plastics and probably still not be "satisfied." Oh well, so much better than 2 years ago.  You have come so far.  Congrats.

I think you look fabulous! Don't get down on yourself or be disappointed in less than perfect. None of us are perfect, and your tummy looks awesome!

I am still loving life with my sleeve! Been maintaining at or below goal for over 4 years!

I agree with alot of the above posts, you can't help but to notice the other areas that you didn't have work on.

I see it with myself too. It was all of a sudden I looked at my thighs and cringed! They looked better immediately following my surgery! But, probably because that swelling had wandered into some of the surrounding immediate areas abit too. So an area that was deflated may have filled up reducing the saggy areas abit.

In all honesty, I think you look GREAT! You have some great ABS!!!!!!!!!!  And you are "healing", and I think that it really messes with our minds!!!!

I agree with all of the above. Just another few thoughts:

I am not sure how far out of your wls you are, but with wl, I think there is a grieving process that comes along with it. First, we are in lose/lose/lose mode, the it stops, and real life sets in. Second, we lose this massive amount of weight, and left with a tremendous about of sagging skin. I think like a PP said, we have to grieve the fact that we will never have a nice, tight body. I started losing at 17, lost 100 pds in 4 yrs (no wls), so I was a young 23-24 when I finished losing my weight. I never have had the body of a young person. With time (I've been at my current weight for 5-6 yrs), I've accepted my body and it's misgivings. No, it's not perfect...but I work with it.

I will be honest, I looked at your pics, and understand your disappointed. Your stomach looks great...but your 'tiny' body is lost behind the rest of your skin. I get your frustration and sadness..and I won't minimize that. However, what I noticed about your pics was the amount of muscle mass you have! You are a rock under that skin!! So when/if you get your arms/legs done..you will be smoking!

However, in the meantime, enjoy your flat tummy!

Oh and I will second, third and fourth the sentiments of having other problems area highlighted immediately after the PS. Last week, with the swelling, I felt huge!!! I had sold mysel on needing a lower body lift...now, a week later, less swelling...I feel back to normal!

I can't see pics at work, but I will tell you about my body.  I had the LBL, BL, arms and medial thigh lift.  Dr Sauceda did tell me that I'd need an UBL if I wanted to get rid of the skin on my upper back.  I thought I'd be ok with it.  Now, I'm finding I'm not.  I hate the back roll/fat/skin pockets.  Everything else is good, but my upper back.  Granted, I look so much better in my clothes now and I feel 100x better about myself than I did with just the WL.  The PS just gave me that little nudge closer to feeling pretty and sexy.  Ok, the facelift helped too!  I didn't expect to have a model body after PS, completely unrealistic, but I love my new perky bewbies and flat tummy.  The scars don't seem to bother me and they are healing nice at 6mo out.  I still swell a little during the day and wear my garment and sports bra at night.

I think you look great but I can understand where you are coming from. I have not gone through mine yet (Novenber) and my surgeon has stressed that I have to be realistic. I'm trying to remember where I came from and that like the past poster said, I could spend a fortune and still find something that i wished looked better.

So many emotions that we have experienced throughout this journey, I hope you find your happy place with yours.
