Arm Lift - It is possible way before goal?

Im currently down 90 lbs, have another 90, or so to go.  Of course, we lose from top to bottom, so my arms are already pretty deflated.  Im sure theres still fat in there, but can they remove that in the process?
Would a plastic surgeon do an arm lift at this point, or would it be wise to even think about it now?

If you have it done now and continue to lose a considerable amount of weight your results will most likely change and you'd probably need a revision to get the look you want/like.

I did three consults...and each doc asked how long I had been at my current weight. Most will not do surgery if you are still losing.

If they are getting in the way of exercising or are causing a lot of rashes, pain, etc, you should see about getting them done. You would probably need a revision when you get to goal. If they are not really in the way or causing you any trouble, you should wait.

I did get my arms done as soon as I got to goal. Mine were bugging me and I figured that even if my weight fluctuated a little bit it would not affect my arms that much. I did wait until much later to get my body work done. I knew fluctuations could affect my mid-section greatly and wanted to be sure I was maintaining my weight.

I was watching video seminars for plastic sugeons who do body sculpting after massive weight loss.  They said (in the lecture) that it is not wise to do plastic surgery until the bariatric patient is 12-18 months out from bariatric surgery and at a stable weight.  Healing from plastic surgery is not "optimal" until that time because there is still so much malabsorption and the body chemistry is not "optimal."

I would also think you would not be happy with results.  Losing another 90 pounds would more than likely leave you with a 2nd set of batwings and some plastic surgeons will not "guarantee" incisions done over other previous incisions.

There are support garments with short, 3/4, or full sleeves that would help with the "flapping" of the batwings and you could use those till you are at "goal" and your weight has stabalized for a few months.

Just my opinion.  I know I kept my arms covered until i had an arm lift 2 months ago (and they are still covered - from ACE bandages for the first month and silicone strips for scar minimization this last month).  Hoping to "bare" them soon.

ok... I guess I'll just put that thought on the back burner for now, I certainly don't want a second set of batwings!!
I'm just so anxious for arms that I can bare/bear!
I never have been comfortable with my arms, but I'd rather wait for optimal results.
Thanks!

Hi!  As you can see I've lost quite a bit.  Over  a year ago, before I was at goal, I got my arms done.  My left arm was 27 inches long and right arm was 24.  I had over 5 lbs of excess skin hanging - When I swam, they would hit me in the head and face.  I had rashes that would bleed.  It was bad.  Now, I am at goal and I will be getting a revision at the end of the year when I get my breast lift and second stage of my thighs done.  I'm glad I got them done early - I had lost 200lbs at that time and needed it for mobility.  It's doable at your weight, but you'll need a revision and that does suck!  It means more money and more time out of work!

I, however, have no regrets.

Hello Dee,
Dr Sauceda did a revision on my arms last week, and it really isnt bad. He did the revision from my underarms to half way to my elbow. He matched it up perfect with the old scar from elbows to midpoint of upper arm. He also told me that I dont even have to wear my compression sleeve. I have not worn it for 4 days now and all is well.  :)
