lbl 5 weeks out
I went to dr today and removed 1 drain- I have one left! Told me to call in my numbers on thursday to see if we can remove the last one this week.
I was complaining of a pain on my left side...i would literally jump when I touched the area. So Dr.numbed area TWICE and went in and DUG out a stitch that must of been hitting a nerve. The problem is he left a would and now I'm packing the area. UGH. He also mentioned that the necrosis seems to be getting smaller but we should discuss having it removed next week- meaning more packing and taking care of the area.
I cried when I got home and freaked out when I had to change the dressing....
anyone who believes in prayer I can sure use it. I just wish the necrotic area just falls off by itself so I don't have to do this dressing dilemma. I have to attend a wedding at the end of august in another state and the thought of having to carry all this stuff to maintain, the wounds is making me ill.....

Click on my name or avitar picture and check out my "open wound" from necrosis. I'm a RN and it freaked me out for the first week, then I got used to it.
At 2 months - mine is finally filling in and getting smaller. It is really slow. I see the plastic surgeon again Friday, but I think it will heal without surgical revision. There will be scar and I don't think I will have anything done to minimize it. I'm 62 and not showing off my belly anyway.
Best wishes on your healing. It will be better - this is temporary.
Rest, limit lifting to what surgeons restrictions are (8# for me), up your protein & water, take all vitamins & supplements to speed tissue healing.
Praying for you.
