How long does the numbness last?

Just wondering where everyone is on this issue. I have been wearing flowy, loose type dresses. Nothing confining, only my compression garment. It feels wierd to wear pants, like it feels as if I have amour on!!!!! It is sooooo numb!Very trunkie like feel! How long will this feeling last for?

There is no definition in shape either! No ass! No waist! DEFINATELY NO ASS!!!!

I probably shouldn't have done this, but  I did buy 2 denim skirts, 1 semi fitted with a flap pockets,on the butt **to give me an ass! **I did keep the reciept  ....and a cheap elastic waisted skirt ** to allow for fluctuation of swelling space.

Thanx in advance for your response,
Prek3

I don't know the answer to your question, but you're so funny!  I wear pants every now and then (at 2 1/2 months out) but they do bother my incision still (anchor cut).

Girl, you are so funny!! My feeling is starting to come back, but it still feels weird. I've been living in yoga pants and tank tops since surgery because none of my clothes fit due to the swelling.

I have been wearing my regular pants and shorts for a few weeks now and they do feel funny.

As far as how long it take for the numbness to go away, it depends.  EVERY Nerve in your skin was cut and every pathway between the nerves from the top of the incision to the bottom of the insicion was severed.  Since those nerves and connections were not just severed but then also removed, all your exisiting nerves have to regenerate all of those connections and discover where their new neighbors are.  It can take up to 1 year to regrow those connections, and in some places thay may never grow back completely.

This is my 11th surgery.  I have places of numbness where the nerves never regenrated properly from each of the 10 previous surgeries.  Not the entire surgical site but little "pockets" of numbness.  I have a feeling that will happen to me with this one as well.

Anna is spot on. You may have some areas that stay numb. I have places from all of my surgeries that did not regain their feeling. It's not bothersome but just strange sometimes when I feel certain areas.

One example is.....I like to lay in the sun. I always have a bottle of water or something cold to drink with me. I can pick up my drink and the condensation on the outside of the bottle or glass will drip on my tummy right around my new belly button and I don't feel it. I see it dripping but I don't feel a thing!

My BOO-TA is nonexistent..I've never had much booty, but now..it's skin stretched over a sheet of paper..!!
I got an email this morning on how to bump up the booty to be ROCK HARD...!! I think someone has been lurking near by and saying...hmmm, this girl's booty needs SOME SERIOUS HELP AND PRETTY DANG QUICK...

My incisions are healing nicely...No scabs just a scar, but Girrrrl they are tender and numb at the same time...by the end of the day, I look like the Stay PUFF MARSHMALLOW MAN AROUND THE MONS AREA AND AROUND THE BELLY BUTTON AND FRONT PART OF THE HIPS, MORE ON THE SIDE OF THE TUMMY...SO, I TOO, WONDER HOW LONG THE SWELLING LAST...?

I'm going to need every ting new from tops to bottoms...I'm glad we have a store near by that sales name brand clothing for really cheap...sometimes, I can find things for $5 or less...it's really fun to go shopping there, but OMG, you have to fight for the goodies sometimes...hahaha..!

I agree with Laura...living it up over here in my yoga pants, sweat pants, and elastic waist shorts due to swelling as well. I am so numb down low that sometimes my pants start to fall down and my binder and rear pops out! Thankfully my husband has been there to tell me to pull up my pants. I assume we'll be numb for awhile and I hear some feeling may not come back. I just hope I can keep my pants up in public! Good luck
