Question about Brachioplasty scars
Went to my doctor for my 9 month checkup and PA was pleased with my progress and asked if I had thought of plastics. I told her I planned on getting my batwings done when the time came as I don't like them. She asked me if I had ever seen long term scars as they were worse than the bat wings in her opinion. Anyone out there long term who does not mind the scars? Where can I go to see long term pictures?
Thanks Mary

Hi - I had my arm lift and thigh lift 6 weeks ago - personally I would be much happier to live with the scars then the huge amount of flabby excess skin that I had. I've posted some pics of my arms on my blog, but also here are some great pics showing results of others.
Good luck

I will go on record yet again that scars are wayyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyy better than the batwings. There is no way to look good with old lady arms. PERIOD!!
My arms are awesome and I get lots of compliments, even from 20-somethings who do not know I used to be 200 pounds heavier.

I'm nowhere near long term, I'm barely 3 months out. My scars will continue to improve but EVEN if they didn't I'd gladly live with the scars I have right now than the bat wings. I have pictures on my profile of the scars right after surgery (kind of scary) and around 6-8 weeks out. They're open to anyone if you'd like to take a look.
ETA: I just snapped a picture with the webcam that shows my arm lift scars today, at 11 weeks. I posted it in the arm lift album on my profile. It surprised me to see the differences between my 6 week picture and today.

I'm 2 months post fleur de lis abdominoplasty & brachioplasty.
Arms look good. Since 1 month post op I've worn silicone stips on arm incision 24/7 (only off for showers) and they have really reduced the redness and bumpiness. I don't think the scars will be an issue, but the hanging skin was an issue.
Recently I watched a session from Massive Weight loss surgery body sculpting for plastic surgeons and they said we need to wait 12-18 months after bariatric surgery - at a stable weight - and labs are good - otherwise we don't heal well and wounds can open and get nasty.
Makes sense to me.

Fleur de lis (at least for me) was a horizontal incision from mid left hip around front above pubic area to mid right hip THEN it goes midline from public area up (vertical) to between boobs. It is a BIG incision. The plastic surgeon can do more sculpting around the muscles in the waist and under boobs (over ribs).
My waist was taken in 4 inches and really gives an "hourglass" figure. Even my hanging boobs appear better - maybe because my upper tummy is flatter??
The horizontal incision lifts the top of the thighs in the front. The circumferental incision which g 360 degrees lifts all the way around.
My plastic surgeon wants to do a vertical thigh lift whi*****ludes buttocks and an inner thigh lift later on. I don't know if I will do that or not. Time will tell. Too soon after this tummy tuck. It was tough. I'm 8 weeks out from it and still feeling it!
