I just returned from the PS office after having my brachiopplasty. I feel great and I'm so excited to have my bat wings gone!

That is great!  I'm sure you'll be so happy to be rid of that darn skin!  I've been lucky with my arms.  My very upper thighs are a mess but the rest of my legs are good.  I had a fleur de lis, lipo, breast lift and implants.  I've heard the arm lift is a hard surgery.  Take care!  Get in your protein, water, and vitamins.  Do you have to wear support garments for your arms?

Jodi,

Thanks for the well wishes. I'm so happy to let my bat wings go. I can't wait to see what my arms look like. I'm wearing support sleeves and will be wearing them for some time. I go back to the dr tomorrow and will get my first peek at my new arms!

Fabulous!! So happy for you!! You're going to love love love your new arms and be able to wear cute tops and look great in them. I never understand people who would rather keep their batwings than have scars. There is absolutely no way to look good with old lady arms!! Just my not so humble opinion!!

Yay! I got your PM and couldnt respond. I use an iPad and it wouldn't let me switch the texts!

I'm so happy you feel good. The day of my surgery, i was out of it all day...however, since that day, I've been up and about. I love my arms and so happy I sprung for them.

Now I'm thinking about a lower body lift or a tummy tuck next summer.

Laura, I agree...a scar is no where near the embarassment that horrible batwings are! Also, how much did you pay for a lbl from LoMonoco? I'm pleased with my current PS for further work...but I think a local PS would be smart for a more evasive procedure.

I saw three plastic surgeons before the brachioplasty and every one of them plus their staff lamented on and on about the scars. I don't think the scars are anywhere near as bad as that flub hanging from my arms. One surgeon did tell me that a good spray tan would cover them no problem.

I too am already thinking lbl and inner thighs for next summer. I'm hoping to get some of it paid for by insurance, but even if it's not I'm totally getting it done! I may end up in the poor house, but at least I'll look hot!

Gail, was yours outpatient surgery? I am going to need my arms done, they could take out a small county when I get them flapping. When you feel up to it, could you post some details about your surgery and recovery?

Thanks and take good care!

Shelly,

Yes, it was outpatient. It was done in the PS surgical suite. I got there around 10:30 to prep. My mom said they started the surgery around 11:20 and I was out the door at 3:30 after spending some time in the recovery room. I went straight to 7-11 for a cup of coffee b/c I had such a headache from no eating and drinking and then to my parents' house so they could take care of me. So far, recovery is just what I expected. I'm uncomfortable and sore, but not in pain. My lower arms and hands are swollen like sausages. Yesterday, I spent the day in bed with my arms propped up on pillows and ice under them. Today, I feel a little better and I'm able to sit in a chair and use the laptop - for a little while. I'm very lucky to stay with my parents and sister. They have been catering to me and I don't have to worry about doing anything.

I say, if you are thinking about doing the arm lift - do it!!
