Saw my surgeon today 1st week check up

I saw my surgeon today and he thought I looked wonderful.  I had my hair done, makeup on, my nails painted a *****y green (the surgeon thought the color was great).  He thought my incisions looked really good.  I had my right JP removed and I didn't feel it at all. It had been draining less than 30 cc for 2 days.  My left drains 20-40cc every 4 hrs.  They removed some extra sutures that he put in around my hip bone.  He said I don't have to keep my incisions dressed anymore.  He wanted me to put Vaseline on the suture line and moisturizer on the rest.  I got to get rid of the surgical bra and I keep the binder until my second drain is removed.  He wanted me to wear a tank top or cami under my binder.  I can also wear a sports bra.  I see him next week.  I did stop by some stores to look around on the way home.  I can't stand it!  I'm tired of sitting around my house.  I tried some things on but didn't buy anything. I can wear a medium top. My new girls are pretty big so I won't be able to wear a small.  I tried several sizes of dress pants size 8-10 but couldn't get them up over my swolllen thighs. I had lipo to my outer thighs and hips. It was hard to try stuff on pain wise.  I kept dropping things on the floor.  Actually at home I keep dropping things too. OMG!  It's not easy to pick stuff up! I came home and actually made burgers and corn on the cob for the family.  I'm sure I overdid it because I've been sore all evening.  I'm going to rest more tomorrow.  I did go into White House Black Market, The Loft and Chicos.  It seems unreal to go into these places.  I don't feel like belong in normal stores quite yet.  I feel like I have to explain myself or tell my story to the employees.  I know it's dumb.  I did find quite a few nice things at Marshalls.  I will probably get most of my things there or at Kohls.  This is my 3rd go around buying a new wardrobe in the last year and a half.   I've had some hand me downs from friends and family but I'm so ready to get my new thin style going on.

HAPPY FOR THE GOOD REPORT, JODI...

Do take it easy, I'M PROOF OF DOING TO MUCH, TOO SOON...but sometimes you do what you gotta do...my husband has been out of commission, so I had to do some some things I shouldn't...

Get rest, friend...you will heal much sooner if you don't over do it...

I can't wait to buy new stylish clothes..!

Great progress.  I had my Breast Lift 3 months ago and am struggling to find comfortable bras - have tried sports ones but not finding them too comfortable - but anythings better than the surgical bra.

Looking forward to doing some clothes shopping but until I'm out of my compressing garments I think I'll leave it and have a splurge then.  I'm thinking of using a personal shopper - as my size/shape has changed so much and I'm in danger of picking up the same old things (just smaller) again - as it's taking me a while for my head to catch up with my body.

I'm with you on the dropping things - I used long kitchen tongs for a while or just graciously stepped over things and left a trail of destruction through the house - didnt realise how clumsy I am.

So happy you're doing well, but try try try to take things slow. I don't even do as much as you did yesterday and I'm 3 weeks out. My boyfriend keeps fussing at me not to over-do it. I assure him I will be careful because I paid too much to mess things up!!

I've been known to overdue everything all the time.  What's funny is that my Mom has been here all week to help.  She doesn't really help with my care but helps with the house and projects. I have twin 8 yr olds and a large lab puppy who is like a large 2 yr old kid.  My husband works at night so I need help with a lot when he sleeps. I keep feeling guilty about lounging in my family room since she is here. I've been up way more than I would be if she wasn't here.  I feel like I need to entertain her.   And, I feel bad about her having to care for my puppy.  He's 6 mo old and in training but wants to be in everything. My husband is taking the next week off to be with me and I'm looking forward to that.  He is more relaxed with me and will let me rest.
