First round of PS scheduled..any advice?

My first round of PS is scheduled for end of August (yeah!).  I decided to start with the face/neck stuff first as I was told I could do it either before or after all the other body work and insurance is paying for the brow lift.  I know there isn't as much blood loss, etc as the other body surgeries but is there anything extra I should be doing to prepare to heal better?  Just had labs done and numbers are excellent.  I get in about 100 gm of protein per day but surgeon suggested upping it to as close to 150 gm as possible.  I will be having it out of town (about 4 hours away) so will be staying in a hotel for the day before and day after.  Will take a zero-gravity chair as many hotels don't have recliners to sleep in.  Any other suggestions would be appreciated!

I wore a compression garment continuously for the first 5 days and then at night for another two weeks.  Pain medications can cause constipation so I'd suggest starting to take laxatives a few days before the surgery (but check with your doctor).  I had my face, neck, and lower eyes done on March 5th and I'm still a little numb - doctor said it could take up to six months to go away.  Be careful if you have to yawn and do it gently - I popped a stitch which cause a really big bruise - it's fine now but it took awhile.

Did you have dry eyes after the eye surgery?  I went to the opthomalogist yesterday and got an Rx for Restatis for awhile to help with that problem (I already have dry eyes).  Were you able to chew or just do liquids and a soft diet for a couple of weeks?  When it healed, were you happy with the results?  Were they "even" or did anything have to be redone?  Even though this surgery isn't as "drastic" as LBL or others, I think the results are more visible and I am a little more nervous about the outcome.  I will be careful of the yawning as I am a big yawner..especially when I can't read etc. for a few days and will be bored.  Glad you are on the mend.
