Brachioplasty on Friday
Tomorrow will be my 2 weeks post brachioplasty....
1. My surgery was outpatient. I wore some cute summer PJs in with a short sleeve button shirt,
2. I can't stand to be without a bra and there was no way one was going on so I wore cami's with built in bra shelves (XL or XXL - I wear a M) that I could pull on from the ground as that worked better than trying to get it over my head (but shirt with a bigger opening are doable).
3. I laid on the couch with arms on a pillow, wrapped in ace bandages with Ice under my arms for a fair amount the first week.
4. At this point I have graduated to a garment with 3/4 sleeves and it works better to put underclothes.
5. It is hot as all get out here so I have found that tank tops with ace wraps are my "go out" clothes. I went back to work on Monday and wore my garmet so I could get a sweater over my arms. No matter what I tried to use I couldn't get sleeves over the ace wraps. (I used an XL zipper front sweatshirt to try to cover things, BUT my arms wouldn't go by my sides and so I looked like Frankenstein anyway, therefore decided not to worry about covering it.
6. I have a lost of swelling in my lower arms; therefore, as soon as i get home I am wrapping my arms from wrist to arm pits.
7. THe incisions in my arm pits are the worst (sorest) most of the time.
