Nervous but ready
I had way more done than that all at once! Fleur de lis, lipo, breast lift and implants. I would tell you that the panni part has been pretty easy for me. You have some swelling and usually a couple of drains. The drains don't bother me at all. I just have to empty them frequently. I feel some tightness down there at certain times of the day. Mainly just take your pain meds, keep it clean and empty your drains. I was suprised that he cut me so low. I 'm cut almost right at my thigh crease just over my hair line and about 1/4 way around my hips. I'm very pleased with the results. I had a friend who just had a panni and she said it was very easy for her. You should do just fine.
You'll just need help around the house and help with getting bathed, changing our dressings. I was so nervous too! I'll tell you that my breasts were way worse. You'll love your new flat tummy with no panni!

Hi K,
I just approved u as a friend. to see P.S picture password abc123.
Anyway, I am 1 week out today from Lower Body Lift. I expected PAIN, and I have some discomfort, BUT NOT AS BAD AS I EXPECTED! Everyone is different. I was taking 1 percocet by day #4)
- recliner! If you don't have one borrow one (I borrowed one)! test it out! ***some of the ladies here use electrical recliners (you can also rent them)
- I went to a thrift store and bought a walker for $3.00!
- raised toliet seat (looks just like the walker) for $20.00 also at thrift store (it was in excellant condition)!
- Button down house dress. Preferably "pretty" ones, for me personally it lifts my mood!!!!
- Stool Softener immediately following surgery (the narcotics & surgery ingeneral will leave you constipated, you dont want to have to strain and end up with hemoroids to boot!)**I had a B.M. after 2 days after surgery! Which is GREAT! Some people
- Protien shakes (I only did that for 2 meals) but when I did I added fiber to it (my profile shows a cereal I use daily to keep it REGULAR)
- a GRABBER (to pickup things that you will inevatably(sp?) drop!
- get your scripts filled early, incase your pharmacy happens to be out of something, you dont need added pressure
- ask dr. what type of things u will be required to do for home care (gauze, special tape for changing out your dressings)
- pads, chucks (to sit on, bein FREE and easy "NO UNDERWARE")
- pre-set up your areas that you will be spending your time at. I go back and forth between the living room & my family room (so I have pillows and blankets, magazines in easy reach in both rooms).
- buy magazines ahead of time and wait to read them until AFTER surgery.
- I premade my yogurts, so I wouldnt get winded giving someone else instructions on how to prepare my foods.
- cleaned out my medicine cabinet (you'll be surprised how many expired meds you have kept around).
- tucks incase you should develop hemoroids
****There could be more, but these are the things that have come to mind to me the most!
Good luck, keep us posted, and definately hang around and read up

Good luck with your sugery. I am having a ventral hernia repair with panniculectomy Monday July 25 at 7 AM. I will try to post asap which will probably be a day or two post-op.
Prek-3 left a good list on your thread and I am so thankful for that. I am preparing my bedroom which is mid point for bathroom and kitchen. We are moving the recliner into the bedroom next to my bed.
I have a pilllow top mattress bed which is high off ground so I should be able to get in & out of bed fairly ease. I am going tonight or tomorrow to look for a wedge pillow. I found a set in bed pillow at Walmart but it was $33 and I thought that was too much lol.
I am so nervous but so freakin ready to get this over with and get on with my life. Keep your head up. It looks like God worked it out for the both of us.
