Day 4 post TT, lipo, breast lift and implants

Well girls, I feel that I'm doing pretty well.  I got up a lot more today.  I seem to hurt pretty bad around 11pm and then at 0700.  I do take pain meds around the clock.  I had been at the max 10cc every 4 hours but tonight I want to try 5ml. I got a little too sleepy with my last dose.  I usually notice this sort of reaction as my pain level decreases.  It's too bad I can't take Motrin but after bypass we can't.  I have a lot of bruising around my breasts, hips, and thighs.  It looks like I've been hit by a truck.  I'll tell you though the breasts had been more painful than the belly. I didn't anticipate that.  I do have some numbness around my incisions.  I have a lot of itchiness all over from the pain meds and tape.  It takes me about 45 min to change all my dressings in the morning.  I haven't taken a shower yet.  I get dizzy and nauseated when I stand for a prolonged period of time.  I'm a nurse so it isn't the act of changing the dressing.  I've tried to be up a lot more today. I walked around the house some and went out to the driveway a couple of times.  I washed my bra and compression garment today.  I left my sports bra one and put the compression garment back on afterwards.  The special bra doesn't really do anything for me...it's not tight or anything.  I've been in my recliner the last couple of days and that helps with the swelling of my legs. I'm also just more comfortable in it.  My belly looks fantastic.  I know some of you say you can't tell but I really can.  I had 2 large rolls on my belly and even a pannus growing under the main pannus.  It's all gone!  The fleur de lis really lived up to it's name.  I have a flat tummy and cinched waist.  It's wonderful!  My drains are putting out pretty well.  I have 2 and they really don't bother me.  My breasts are very swollen but very up there and hard.  It's hard to visualize what my nipples will look like.  I can't wait to get better and show my results off.  It was definately worth it and I needed it to complete my transformation!

Jodi, It's wonderful to hear that you're feeling so good.  I'm in awe of your flat tummy.  Do you have a sports bra that hooks in the front or do you put it over your head?

Keep us posted on how you're doing and stay sitting until that dizziness goes away.  I hope someone is there with you when you're trying to be up and about.

I am using a great sports bra I found at Academy. It's Under Armour and zips in the front. It's easy to get on and off. It provides a lot of support and is soft and comfy.

That's a great tip Laura, thanks!  I just went to the Under Armour site.  $49 for a zip front bra.  Really?  Is that what they run?

Hi Jodi,
So happy that you are feeling soooo good! I felt the same way by day 4, today marks a week since surgery. I think it helps having been well prepared around my home. When my home is orderly, I feel I can rest easier. How many drains do you have? I have 5 (i thought that was alot for just a LBL).

Continue to keep us posted!!!!

Luckily I have only two drains.  I'm wearing a sports bra.  My bra from the surgery center didn't provide any support and had velcro that came over my shoulders.  It was very itchy.  I was able to decrease the pain med from 10ml and 5ml.  I'm just dizzy the first half of the day. I have people around me.  I wanted to tell you that Miralax is the best product ever.  I started it a couple days before surgery.  I went twice yesterday and once today. I'm going to skip it today because it was almost like diarrhea.  I feel very blessed though because after the bypass I had so much trouble with constipation and I ended up going to the hospital then.  So Miralax is one thing I would suggest!  I see the doctor on Thurs.  I don't think he will pull a drain because they're draining quite a bit.

Great to hear from you!
Keep up the great work!  One step at a tme!

What kinds of dressings do you have?  Do you use transderm tape or something else? I seem to breakout from transderm tape so I was looking for an alternative!

Hey Jodi...

Good to see you post. I hope you feel waaaaaaaay better in a day or two...The first four days were the worse for me, but even then, it wasn't just awful...I had a burning in one of my tummy muscles that was very intense for about three days and then after that, It was just the stooping over that was the pits...I went and had one of my three drains removed, today, and My surgeon was surprised that I was walking up streaight...I feel great as for as feelings go...my incision is a tad tender and that is about all that really bothers me, at the moment...(KNOCK ON WOOD) I feel very blessed to be 54, and to have come through all this as well as I did.

In a couple of days I hope to see you posting about HOW MUCH BETTER you are feeling and that you feel like jumping over the moon...Take care and I'm Happy for you and your new tiny waist, flat tummy and perky boobies..!!!!  :D

Cyndy,
I also saw that mysterious kitty cat!  I laughed when I did!  I thought of your post. My Mom and I were laughing at my "boulder boobs". They look a little box like right now in my bra.  Can't wait to how they will turn out.
All,
I did well again today.  I was able to stay at 5ml of pain med every 4 hours.  I'm on Keflex for a total of 10 days and got thrush today.  I had to start Nystatin.  I got up quite a bit.  My stomach is good except for pulling at times. My girls are sore.
The nurse from the surgeon's office told me I must shower tomorrow instead of washing up at the sink. So, I'll do that tomorrow. My incisions are big but look ok.
I think I may do my hair tomorrow, put on something decent and take a picture to show you all.  I have those drains on each side of my hips and my bra makes my girls look boxie.
We'll see. I've been putting makeup on everyday to make myself feel better.
I can't wait to go shopping. I have my 20th high school reunion 7/30. I hope I'm sweet by then for a few hours out.  I have a hair appt the day before for a cut, color, and style!  I'll need to go out and get something cute to wear. Hopefully I will have my drains gone by then.  I'll have to get creative if not!  I'm so excited about the renion.  I wasn't heavy in high school.  I got heavy my second year of college.
