Anyone NOT at goal do a LBL or TT?

Hi - I had a TT and arm lift in December at 198 lb.  I had gone from 250 to 184 and regained 14 lb.  He removed 15 lb of fat and skin and I am currently back down to 185 and maintaining with little effort.  I am thrilled with my results and am so excited to be able to jump and not have that awful belly slap!! LOL

However, it has taken me a little time to accept that my expectations of having a 6 pack were too high.  My PS has said I am "barrel chested" and "thick" and really couldn't have had much more fat taken out.  I look at my tummy and still see fat - no muscle definition. When I stretch it is tight so I definitely don't have any excess skin.  He basically told me that this is the way my body is and I really don't have much fat to pinch.  It just took some time to get used to my new body and let go of those excessively high expectations.  I suppose if I had really pushed to get down to 150 I would look different but I would struggle to stay there.  I don't like to struggle LOL.

I went from a 16 down to a 12/14 now and in addition my shape is so much better!  I can wear a tank top - I can wear bikini undies - I can wear form fitting knit dresses!  Those are my victories!

Anyway, that has been my experience.  My body just loves being 185 and I have been at this weight for long stretches of time in the past, so I think it is my setpoint.  I excercise 5 times a week, strength training and cardio.  My body fat % is 31%, with is still considered "acceptable".

This whole journey of WLS and then PS is such a transformation!  It takes a while for the mind to catch up with the body!

I have pics in my profile if you want to look at what 198 lb and PS results can look like!

Good luck!

Thank you for your thorough and thoughtful response. So exciting to hear and I can't wait to see your pics. And I'm with you--I definitely don't like to struggle. Too much life to live to be battling every ounce! I like how you pointed out the things you consider victories--that is what really matters!

Congrats!
