Brachi Plasty IV Placement???? Where Was Yours?
I don't know about anyone else, but mine was placed in a vein in my foot! Truly I don't want to add to your stress, but I won't lie and tell you that it wasn't painful to me. I have a skinny foot and I really don't have good veins in my hands or my foot. So it took a bit of "hitting the vein". I will say that after it was over, it wasn't too bad.
My surgeon told me that they can't operate "above" the IV, so that's why it wasn't in my hand/arm, but in my foot. Unfortunately, I had to have it done 3 times. :(
I hope someone else will be able to give you better news, and perhaps all surgeon/ anestheiologist (sp) don't feel the same way that mine did.
All the best to you,
:o)

I have tough veins in my hands, but they finally got an infant IV in my hand to get me antibiotic and nausea meds, then put one in my foot while I was out!
I will be a week out tomorrow and I have to say if the incision was not numb I am sure it would hurt, but each day gets better!

I may have had a few extra potholes along the way, but the journey has been good!
