Stupid question..

I feel silly asking but.. I am having a full TT with muscle tightening on the 25th of this month. I will likely be on my TOM then. Will either the bleeding or the bloating cause issues for surgery or for my results? Seems weird to ask, but my tummy is so much bigger during um period, I wonder if the resulting skin won't be as tight once I am not bloated.. Ha ha.. Sorry!

hmm, not sure. My guess will be probably not but I really don't know. Glad to see you are going to do this. Weren't you doing this about 2 years ago and actually at the hopspital and changed your mind? You'll be so happy when you get it done. If you're concerned about the TOM thing can you change the date to a week later so you won't have this problem?

How embarrassing that you remember me chickening out! Ha ha. If I could change the date I would. Unfortunately it is sandwiched in between us moving the week before and hubby having jaw surgery a month later.. And after that the cadets come back and us dependents take a back burner- I am having it done at west point. Maybe I should just ask the nurse....She will probably laugh at my goofy, stressed ass. Lmao

What about asking your gyno or pcp for some sort of birth control to postpone your period? Just a thought.

You shouldn't be embarrassed about not going thru w/ it last time. You weren't ready for the journey at the time and that possibly could have made recovery difficult. You need to be both mentally and physically prepared for this surgery. It actually takes a lot of courage to change your mind and stick to it especially when you are at the hospital w/ everyone ready to go. They could have so easily guilted you into doing something you weren't ready for.

Every surgery Ive had has thrown my body into my period. So no dont worry about it, they expect it. It is a big pain in the butt, the trauma from surgery brings it on for many. It will be fine, good luck.

No, your TOM shouldn't make any difference.

I started my TOM the morning I went into surgery for my WLS.... I was embarrassed, but they said it happens.

Nah, It won't make a difference.  They pull you so dang tight it won't matter if your bloated or not.  And, I also remember you chickening out last time and wanted to reassure you that it's not as bad as you are conjuring it up in your mind.  Good luck this time around.  You'll be so glad you finally did this.

Being bloated and on your period will have absolutely no bearing on your TT results, I promise.  Never fear!
