7/14 I will have my anchor cut TT with panni, lipo of the hips, breast lift with implants and lipo of the sides of my breasts.  It's funny that I'm going to through a wide range of emotions. My highest weight was 294, surgery weight 270 and current weight 180lbs (depending on the scale).  My neck, arms, and legs are small.  My boobs are droopy and I've lost volume.  My stomach has shrunk but I still have my rolls in the front.  The skin/rolls make me feel very heavy.  I'm so glad to be having this surgery because I think I the left overs are making me depressed. I never thought the skin would bother me so much.  I think people who haven't had the surgery think I'm crazy for feeling fat still.  But everyone is excited for me to have this. I need to have it to feel done.  I'm also dealing with my diet daily.  I stay on my program but I'm hungry all the time.  My calories were creaping up.  I see where some people aren't hungry but I never lost that!
I've got my compression garments, comfy clothes/etc to wear after, dressings/tape, heating pad, meds filled, protein, etc.
Did any of you have the anchor cut, lipo, breast lift with implants?  Any suggestions on anything else to have on hand.  I'm worried about pain.  I'm getting this done outpt and will go home the same day.  I've had a lot of surgeries.  But hearing what to expect always help.
Thanks,
Jodi

I can understand the emotions as I'm not scheduled until November ( LBL and Brachioplasty) and am already emotional., But you have done a fantastic job losing the weight and you are going to be so happy you did this (after you recover) and I think after they remove skin you will be at a healthy maintainable and realistic weight. I look forward to following you and your progress.

oh and I am looking into renting a lift recliner and a bed side hospital and I will be purchasing a shower chair and a high rise toilet seat. I have also heard that you might want to keep some cough drops around because caughing gould be painful

I can so relate, as I currently have the body of an 80 yr old! My surgery is this coming Monday (4days away)! My eating has been horrible the lasy 2 weeks, but today I feel more incontrol, as I am not at work today and it just dawned on me how that was contributing to my poor eating.
definately hang around here and you'll be fine.

I recommend the high rise toilet seat with handles, if you don't already have one. It has been extremely helpful to me. I got mine at CVS.

And I know what you mean. My roll of skin around the middle made me still feel "heavy" even though logically, I know I'm not.

I'm 10 days out today from lbl/butt auto aug/bl and feel great even without taking anything for pain.

Best wishes!!

Thanks for the replies.  I've noticed too that I've been really emotional about this.  I also have been struggling with my calories so I started tracking them again.  I was hoping to be at goal or closer to goal but I've really stopped losing since January.  My docs feel this is the weight my body wants to be at.  My friends and kids are so excited about the surgery.  My 8 yr old daughter has been bragging to all her friends about how skinny I will be.  Even my patients are excited. I'm sure I'll get nothing done my first week back to work.  I'm taking 3.5 weeks off.  I'm a nurse but I mostly sit at a desk, see patients in clinic and go to meetings. I'm hoping that is enough.  My doc wrote me off for 4 weeks if needed.
Have any of you had lipo and how bad is that pain from that?  I'm having it on my hips and side boobs :)  Sorry, side boobs is such a funny word.  I have names for all my rolls!!!!  I thought about writing little phrases on my rolls before surgery.  But I don't want the doc to think I'm weird.

You said TT with panni - with an anchor cut - I assume abdominoplasty with muscle defining below and above belly button?

I had fleur de lis (anchor cut) abdominoplasty with considerable muscle work and brachioplasty 6 weeks ago.  I was in acute care hospital with an overnight stay.

Pain pump helped so much - lasted me 4 days.  I had 2 drains in belly and 2 in arms.

Trip home was painful.  I had something to put my feet on in the car and a small pillow under the seat belt (I had a 4 hour ride home.)  I also had a "puke" bag - just in case.  Have them give you something IV just before you leave for home.

I have an electric bed - so was able to sleep with feet elevated and head at 30 degree angle.  I used a firm pillow under my butt to elevate me in my favorite chair, pillow at back and ottoman to put my feet on.  (I couldn't do recliner because of core and arms being "out of commission".)

I climbed stairs my first night home and did fine.

I wore abdominal binder at all times.  I have had tissue necrosis resulting in a large open wound when horizontal and vertical incision from anchor cut intersection.  I still wear compression garments at 6 weeks post op and will until the wound heals.

I had a 5 pound weight limit the first 4 weeks.  Make sure to take stool softners, fluids, increase protein, eat extra fiber.  You need to heal, rest, try not to get constipated.

My PS will not do lipo on first round plastic surgery for TT - but I've read several posts that say the pain is increased with lipo - no first hand experience there.

Wait until drains are out before you step in the scale.

Wishing you the best.

Hi Jodi!

I had a BL/BA and had side boobs too, but the BL/BA took care of them.

I had the anchor TT with muscle tightening too, but I had both procedures at different times.

Do you have your compression garment yet?  Get a wife beater shirt to wear under it so it doesn't chafe - worked very well (and for the BL/BA too).  Get a timer to wake yourself up at night to take your pain meds so in the morning you can still get in/out of bed yourself.  I had the little plastic med cups lined up on the nightstand ready and just waiting for me to take them.

Its funny how we can have a lot of surgeries but its the PS that gets us all weirded out.  I too got very emotional, both before and after.  I wrote a little blog about it, but I really contribute it to the drains.  They were the hardest thing for me to accept and try to dress around, that's for the TT.

When I had the BL/BA I knew more of what to expect and didn't have any problems issues with it, but I also didn't have any drains.

Best of luck to you and its exciting to see the results- I'm nothing short of ecstatic with mine!!
