BA and TT yesterday

Had my BA and TT yesterday.  All went well and, as crazy as it seems, it is my throat that bothers me the most (from the breathing tube).  I have to eat a few bites of ice cream to numb my throat before I can eat any real food or take my antibiotics.  I'm really not hungry but know that I must eat so I do.  I have one drain and the surgeon thinks it can come out on Wednesday when I return for my first post-op visit.  It only drained 45 cc in the first 24 hours.  Just wanted to let you know that all went well.

Wow - just 1 drain?  Good for you!  I had 3 with my TT.

Glad to hear all is going well for you.  Just take it easy, get some food in (I found after my TT my restriction was even more), and protein drinks.

Yea, I remember my throat being a bit scratchy too...

I remember my throat hurting also.  Would suck on cough drops & that helped some.  I had NO appetite at all, my hubby would fix me some fruit smoothies & put my protein mix in it.  They were frozen and felt good to my throat & at least it helped getting some nutrition in.  Hang in there!

Thank you, everyone!

Hi, Miss Shell!  LTNS!  I hope you are doing well!

I had my surgery on Friday so am now 4 days post-op and things have gone far better than I expected.  I took a pain pill Friday night and one on Saturday night just so I would be sure to sleep (I am prone to sleep-deprivation migraines) and haven't had a pain pill since.  I was even out and about today as I was going stir crazy.

I am scheduled for my first post-op visit in the morning.  My navel sutures are to be removed and, hopefully, my drain will be removed as well.  All my other sutures won't require removal as they are absorbable - which I really like!  I walk fairly straight so don't have too far to go there either.  Can't wait to be able to stand totally straight so I can see the full effects of my BA and TT.

I've had no major swelling issues as my legs and ankles look normal but I must have some swelling in the abdomen as my hips and waist measurements haven't changed one iota. I know I have breast swelling because I can feel that.

I know you aren't supposed to get on the scale but that is hard when weight has been a major issue in your life.  I expected to be up in weight but am actually down a pound from my pre-surgery weight so that was a real surprise.

All in all, this has been a far better and less painful experience than I expected.  I just wish I could rush the final results as I am so anxious to see the "new" wrappings I now inhabit.

I wish you all an equally positive experience!
