Your size Before..Your size now...?
I'm thinking of going ahead and buying a couple of pairs of CUTE panties, for after my surgery, before all the swelling comes into play, so as to take pictures after the surgery showing the difference better (in my oppinion).
SO, I would like you to give me your size before and now, to help me get an idea of what size to purchase...I know it's jumping the Gun, so to speak, but dang it..I'm excited to get away from "GRANNY"...SHE'S BEEN VISITING MY LIFE FOR WAAAAY TO LONG..!!
Thanks...

Great question! One thing to keep in mind with any underwear, shorts, yoga pants, etc. is where your incision line will be. Currently I don't want ANYTHING touching it - my line is low in front and back and comes up on the sides due to the amount of excess skin i.e. saddlebags the ps was trying to remove. I am thinking I am down at least(?) 2 sizes??? But now with the swelling setting in I'm not quite sure. Maybe you can get some that are on sale for 4 for $$ and get a couple of sizes? I know, it's exciting for sure!
I am super anxious to start trying on shorts, etc. when I am feeling more up to it and the drains are gone.
Can't wait until my 2nd post-op appt. tomorrow, I look at each one of them as one step closer to healing!!

I know that it varies with everyone but .....
I was still wearing all of the underwear I had before I lost the first lb. I started at 272 on my surgery date (vsg - 8/2008) and the day I went in for my LBL I weighed 176. My surgeon removed 13 lbs (oh yeah!) and today I weighed 163.... my surgery date was March 1. I went from size 14 in pants to a majority size 10 - I do have some 6, 8 and even a few 12. But I went CRAZY in new undies. I am wearing a medium (which i think is a 6 but I my be wrong) and in the last 2 months I have bought *blush* 40 pairs. I know it is extreme but I had these awful huge underwear before and I simply have an addiction to underwear now. I find myself buying a pair or two or three :) every time I shop. Aerie, Gap, and VS are my favorites.

I'm 5 weeks post TT (fleur de lis - anchor cut). I wore size 6 petite before surgery. Couln't get into any of my pants for the first month - the abdominal binder wouldn't allow it. I had to wear PJ bottoms at home and dresses my first week back at work.
I now have compression garments: a top with stays that goes to groin (hook & eyes) to close the front and heavy compression briefs (like granny panties) I wear over the top. I can now get into my size 6 pants. They are loose in the waist. I still have considerable swelling in belly and with my open wound from tissue necrosis and dressing over it.
I think I will still be in the same size. My panni wasn't as large as some people.
The brachioplasty has no impact on my top size - sleeves are just looser.

Ohhhh, girrrrrrrrl...I have a HUGE panni..!! My weight was caried mostly in my belly and it is still huge...You will all see in the before pics., soon...and you will see just how LRG it really is...
I bet you go down to at least a 4 when all that swellling is gone...but a 6 is still a very good size to be..
How is your wound, today..?

Even after losing 100 pounds I never, ever got down to the little sizes like the rest of you. I was in a 14P in most pants, to fit around my waist and panni - but after my anchor cut TT I can now wear a size 10P and they are large in the waist but fit through the hips. I have accepted the fact that I will NEVER be in a single size pants - I have an hour glass shape and it will never change - as much as I would love to have small hips and a willowy figure it will just never be!!! BUT - I am so happy where I am now - no comparison to where I was a little over 3 years ago.
