Hi all, well I lost over 180...happy about that :) Not so happy about the way my body looks. As you can imagine after such loss, Im a mess. I thought I could live with this.... then I tried on a bathing suit yesterday. I cried :( So sad.

I will need it all, arms, boobs, legs, body lifts. I am scared I will never be able to afford this... I hope. Can you give me an idea of the cost of surgery? A good place to see before and after pics? And a surgon review site??

Thanks all.

Do you have health insurance?  If so, I'd start with them.  Get a copy of their clinical policy bulletin (usually available online) regarding reconstructive surgery.  Find out what they  cover and what criteria you need to meet in order to get those procedures covered.  Then work on that.  My insurance would cover a panniculectomy if my pannis hung below the pubis and I had 3 months of documented skin rashes that did not respond to medical treatment.  So, I went to my PCP for every little rash and got it all documented in my medical records.

I opted to have an LBL and not just the panniculectomy, but my insurance did cover that portion of the surgery, which saved me about $3k.

You can also look into medical loans.

Good luck!

I did check into my insurance. They rarely cover a pani removal. But I need so much more. I would like to stay in USA but am reading about dr s in Mexico. Id prefer to stay here though. I need an idea how much it costs though.

Thanks for the reply

Well, rarely means that they do sometimes cover it!  If I were you, I'd find out what criteria must be met to get approved and I'd work on getting that together and go for approval here in the US.  Then if you can't get approved, you can look at going out of country.  (Of course you can look at that now, but I would try for insurance coverage here in the US first.)

My LBL with butt augmentation was $13k for all costs.....surgeon's fees, anesthesia, hospital, OR, etc.

My quote for a small brachio, breast lift (no implants) and inner thigh lift was around another $12k.

This is from my surgeon in Norfolk, VA.

When you have to pay out of your pocket, do hospitals offer a payment plan where you can pay back the amount little by little?  Or do they require the entire amount up front?

Thanks!

All the surgeons I consulted with required payment in full up front and this included the hospital and anesthesia.

You can finance it via a medical loan (like care credit) and make payments that way, though.

First of all sweetie DO NOT GIVE UP HOPE...I was in the same boat. My insurance company is BCBS I live in Michigan. When I first sat down with my surgeon the total cost was over $16,000. After talking about different options we found that breaking my breast surgeon up from my tummy tuck was a way for me to afford what I wanted to have done. So on April 1st I had just a breast lift. My insurance will possibly cover the panniculectomy but I had to pay the total cost upfront while their payment is pending. The total cost of my tummy tuck is $6000 and I am schedule this Friday July 8th for that. My surgeon will also place implants at that time.

Because I was a BRAC1 gene carrier(the breast cancer gene) my insurance covered my full mastectomy and breast lift in April, and now are 100% covering my implants at the time of the tummy tuck. Weird mixed blessing! But was thrilled to have the breast surgery covered.

To tell you the truth I was very worried I'd never be able to afford the surgery I wanted as well and have many nights of tears over it. But with alot of saving and lots of overtime from my husband, my tummy tuck was fully paid for, and like I said this Friday will be my big day. Sweetie God provides in all different ways. Don't give up hope. Keep your chin up! We started a "Dr. Cullen" jar at home in my kitchen. (The name of my AMAZING surgeon) Every time we walked past the jar we threw spare change, dollar bills...whatever we had into it. When it got full I took it to the bank and would ca**** in. Each time equaling over a hundred dollars. Little by little we were able to save up the full amount in two months. I promise, if we can pull together so can you. I had friends, family, coworkers..everyone throwing bits and piece into my Dr Cullen jar. Every little bit helped, even took back all our pop bottles and had over $100 in them too. Let me know how it goes. YOU CAN DO THIS...look how much you've already done! Best of luck!!!

To have everything done can probably cost anywhere from $20,000-$40,000. You could also look into residency programs to save money. I had my arms done first because they bugged me the most and were relatively inexpensive to fix. The rest I could hide with shapewear. I just had a lower body lift with buttock auto augmentation and breast lift. Next I hope to get implants. Down the line I would love to get an inner thigh lift, but with everything else done, my thighs do not bother me as much. We'll see how I feel later.

Make sure your credit is good and you could always get a loan.

Where there's a will, there's a way.
