Congratulations on your decision, Carmen. You are going to LOVE IT! Band and LBL were the best life-enhancing moves I've ever made.

Best of luck...Terri

Hi Terri!
Did you have to get a small unfill prior to your surgery? My dr. wants me to get some fill out prior. I have a low profile port, and it still protrudes a bit. Does your port protrude after your surgery?
Thanks in advance,
Carmen

Dr. Moein didn't see a need for an unfill, nor did Dr. Lickstein.  Dr. L. removed and repositioned my port due to the muscle tightening.  It does protrude, but only when I raise my arm up.  From my experience and that of some other bandsters, no problems.  Just be prepared for wearing that binder and it greatly decreasing your appetite/increasing your early fullness. I was able to get in the needed protein though...no issues.  You will have that "walk like an old lady stance" for a few days after the surgery.  Remember to hunch over but look forward.  That's the biggest thing I was told by the nurse to remember; looking down not ahead frequently causes dizziness. Your body will gradually straighten over the next few days, without you really realizing it.  Love that recliner, have help getting in and out, and have either a raised toilet seat, or we had a walker that my husband positioned backwards over the toilet so I would have something to grab onto to raise and lower myself.  My intermittent swelling lasted about 9 months, nothing that other people could really see; I could just feel it, but I was good to go at about 4 weeks and back to full strenuous activities at 6 weeks.

You are going to feel like a different person, and oh such a small tummy....
