How long did you wait before starting the plastic surgery process.  I will be one year out in November and I want it done asap!

Five years - I knew I'd be self-pay and needed to save up for it.  This past year I interviewed surgeons and am now 6 days out post-op.  Good luck with your journey!

My surgeon requested a 100 pound loss for a year and be maintaining goal.  I was 26 months post RNY when I had my tummy tuck and brachioplasty.

I will be 1 year post op RNY August 16th and I am already starting the process (I will be self pay so that will also determine when I get it done).  I have 2 consults this week and one July 6th.  I do know the one consult I have just required that I had lost at least 100 lbs.  I am anxious to see what all they say.

No time at all!  I had my plastics just over eleven months out, but my weight has been stable for at least five or six months.

Too long, I don't know if its because I was scared or what, but I'm 5 years out and just decided to go for it. I'll be getting a TT done in August. You should go for it. Good luck.

It took me a year to lose 100 pounds (I was a slow loser), then I waited 2 more years for surgery.  Thought I could live with the skin/fat on the front but decided I could not - therefore an extended TT with muscle tightening 3 months ago.

I will be just under 2 years out when I have my plastics done in August.
I had my first consult visit at 1 year.

I had my arms done 15 months post-rny. My arms werre horrible and I figured even if my weight changed, my arms would not be affected that much. I'm almost 3 years post-rny now and am about to get a lbl and bl. I wanted my weight to be stable for a while before I did these.

Unless there were special medical considerations, my reconstructive surgeons want people to be done losing and have maintained for a year before they do surgery.

I had special medical considerations, so mine was done a year to the day after my rny.
