OMG! Approved
I cannot believe it, BCBS of Forida just approved my ventral hernia repair with panniculectomy. I will an inpateint due to heart issues. I am in shock and it only took a week.
The tenitive surgery date is July 26 or worst case would be August 9. I am terrifed that it wont be enough recovery time. I have NOVA oreintation August 17 and classes begin August 22.
Will I be ok to go to school? Please share your recovery experiences with me.

Congrats!
Will you just be getting the hernia repair and panniculectomy or will you be paying the difference and going for a tummy tuck or LBL? That will make a difference in your recovery time (I would think).
I had a circumferential LBL with butt agumentation on 5/26 ( a month ago today) and, while my overall pain levels pleasantly surprised me - not as bad as I thought, I am disappointed with how long it is taking me to return to normal. I do think that if I'd not gotten the butt augmentation, I'd be further along with my recovery.
I also developed a seroma, which has had to be aspirated twice and I might have to have a JP drain re-inserted. The thing is you never know if you're going to be one of those who has a complication that delays your recovery.
Now, I think from 7/26 to 8/22 you may be okay to attend classes, but you might get tired (it's hard to get a good night's sleep while recovering).
Good luck!

Thank you I am just shocked that is it actually gonna happen and my insurance is gonna pay on it, 80%. I believe PS said he has to cut me from pubic bone to brst bone anyway so he will end up doing a TT but only charging me for ventral hernia repair and panniculectomy.

Thanks Betty, I just want to be ok for classes. I have read alot of ppl here have so many different reactions to the recovery time which scares me some.
But oh well, I will do what I have to do and follow the rules for recovery.
I am so excited and numb shocked at the same. I don't think it has really sunk in yet.
