Paying for skin removal surgery

I can suggest a couple of options for you I don't know if they would be any hel*****t, but I'm going to have TT done here in California thru Charles J. Sarosy, M.D. I'll be having it in San Diego. I only paid $5100.00 for it.

Option 2:  Like what others are saying, "Out of the country" I live and work on the Mexican Border, so I see a lot of people going into Mexicali, Mexico to get plastic surgery. The Drs and staff at some of the places there are extremely professional and will go out of their way to make sure you are comfortable. I can't say anything about the look of the places, I have no knowledge of that, but from what I hear, the Drs are very professional, they do excellent work, and for a fraction of the cost of what it is in the U.S. I can say, I do know personally 2 people who have gone to Mexico and paid for the Tummy Tuck there. They are extremely satisfied and only paid like $3500-$4500.00 for it. So you can do some research but here is one well known surgeon: http://www.drmanjarrez.com.mx/

Hey, good luck man, I hope you find something that works for you, I know how you feel, I'm 5 years out and still cant show my body off either. So good luck to you.

Wow thanks everyone for all the great advice! keepum coming!  I plan on looking into everything you guys have told me about. Well everything except for the sand paper idea...lol.... I can't believe people would actually take it that far.

I'm in Indiana too.  Ive lost 130lbs and hate the skin I'm in. I say we buddy up and go to Mexico!  I was going to check out Care Credit, I heard it not too hard to get money from them.  Best Wishes to ya.

Sand paper is a little rough...  BUt toothpaste is caustic and if left on your skin under a band-aide could cause some nasty irritation...

Just sayin....

;)

What about going to your bank?  I know our credit union will do signature loans for up to $20k and the repayment is over 5 years....  It's  a long shot, but might be worth looking into...

Best of luck!

I have tried my bank they are not giving me a loan. Credit score is in the mid 600's and I know that is not great but it is not bad either. They still said no. But that toothpaste idea might work! LOL

I am still looking into going out of country and I maybe I will dip in my 401K. Not sure yet. But the problem with paying for this myself is getting off from work for the recovery time. I will need 4 to 6 weeks off from work according to my doctor, because I am doing two surgeries at once. If this is considered to be "cosmetic" then I don't think it will be covered under FMLA or short term disability at my job.
