How long before I can care for my children by myself?

Hi, I am scheduled for a tummy tuck with the additional vertical incision and a breastlift with augmentation in a week. Getting nervous. I have 3 small children 6, 5 and 13 months and would like to know others experiences with how long did it take before you could be left alone caring for your kids? My 13 month is just 20 pounds but still isn't walking yet. I plan on staying with my Mom for a week and leaving hubby and kids at home. Is it unrealistic to plan on being ok to handle it in 3 weeks? Thanks for any advice.

I had fleur de lis tummy tuck and brachioplasty May 24 - it will be 4 weeks next Tues.  I have a 5# weight lifting restriction.

I'm older than you, but I'm gonna try 1/2 days working next week (I have a desk job).

Recovery has been difficult. My husband took 10 days off to stay with me - I did need him to lift, reach, pick up, cook, laundry, etc.

Hopefully someone younger will be able to help you more than this grandma.  (I have 2 granddaughters age 1 & 3 and I can't be left alone with them, yet.)

 after a TT your dr SHOULDNT be clearing you to lift  your littlest one for 6 weeks!

Ditto the above poster.  I'm on a 5 - 10 pound lifting restriction for at least 6 weeks.

Oh wow, I thought I was told 20 pounds for 6 weeks. My little guy is 18 lbs, so I was thinking that maybe I could lift him after just a few weeks. I don't want to tear anything, so I will follow my restrictions. Thank you so much for the replies.

 My restriction was nothing heavier than a gallon of milk for 1 week then 20 pounds for the next 5. And I wasn't supposed to raise my upper arms arms above my shoulder level for 2 weeks.  FOllow your own surgeon's advice.  

I had brach, lbl, ba, and inner thigh lift and live alone with a dog.  My parents came to help me out for 5 days.  I did fine without them after that.
