Incision necrosis
Feeling better every day. The "hole" is changing looks. Kinda brown on the inside with thick white layer around edges. I don't know if my irrigtion, wet to dry dressings are "working". Kinda anxious for appt on Monday and what surgeon will say or "do"!! Kinda afraid he will want to do some "cleaning & cutting or something equally gruesome.
It hasn't opened any further - no foul smell & drainage is clear - all good.
Trying to keep thoughts positive, get protein in, take it easy-yet moving around, drinks lots of water, etc.
Thanks for asking. I will post any issues or after my appt on Monday.

Hi there. First of all, sorry this happened to you. I'm one of the "been there, done that" ones. I had a BL and TT in March and had wound separation. Unfortunately, I know all about this. Send me a message and I'll send you the link to my private website. It shows my pictures and tells my story. Nothing graphic or gross, I promise. But it might help ease your mind. It will be ok, believe me.

While not from necrosis, I had some "dehissing" in the intersection by my groin where 3 incisions came together. I'd read of problems so many times of having problems in these types of intersections, I was almost expecting it, but it's still scary to deal with. I had a deep hole, that seemed to get larger, before getting smaller. It was deep enough that I actually used a very gentle water jet/massager to rinse up in the hole. Ugh, still don't like to think about it.
The scar is no worse there now than anywhere else, so it DOES heal. Make sure you are getting enough vitamin C, since we can't make new skin without it, and hang in there. It sounds like your doing everything right.
