Nerves - honestly?

Well I feel pretty stupid posting this but I've got my TT scheduled 12 days from now - after waiting 2 mo's it's HERE and I feel scared as hell!   I don't know why I feel this way - I've only had a minor knee surgery, 1 c-section and 1 natural birth so while I've not had a lot going on medically (thank God!) I'm not a total stranger to hospitals and stuff.

I see so many people posting here without really mentioning nerves soooooo am I the only one feeling like this?

One of my best friends (whose had horrible medical problems her entire adult life) tells me that your attitude is what pulls you thru - I know I can do this and I will do this but it doesn't change my being scared.

So anywho...feel dumb but I had to throw this one out there - nerves people??????

To me, plastic surgery is very different than other types of surgery, since its elective.  Its something we DON'T need to do to live and survive, but want to do for our own mental health and self-image.

Its perfectly normal to feel nervous - I did too - both times!!  Especially the TT...  it is an unknown and can be scary - but you're going to LOVE the results and its all worth it!!!!

Congratulations.

I don't think it is dumb at all to feel nervous about your upcoming TT.  My decision to have PS has been right at a year from making the decision to interviewing surgeons, etc.  I started a countdown at 92 days from my scheduled date and my surgery is now 8 days away from tomorrow!  There are times that I am very nervous and times that I am very calm about having a LBL.  I've worried about everything from is this the right thing, to will I have everything ready at home for my recovery, etc.  I made lists of things I want to get done before and lists of things that I will want to have during recovery.

I absolutely agree about having the right attitude!  I plan on following my surgeon's recommendations to a T afterwards and will hope for an uneventful recovery and good results!

Good luck to you!

Its not stupid its completely normal. I was scared as hell too. I had my arm lift and breast lift last tuesday. you can talk to your surgeon about it but the hospital gave me something to relax. Best thing i got in my IV that day minus the morphine of course. Just make sure you breath and being as prepared as you can for post op always seems to keep me more relaxed. Keeping busy does too. too much down time makes me think about it too much. But don't worry if you weren't nervous thats something to get worried about.
Hope this helps.
*hugs*

I was increibly freaked and taught it would be much worse than it was. I've had my panni all my life...but worke up and I just can't get over the change and how NORMAL I feel!

I'm so glad I didn't cancel like considered in the days before surgery!

14 pounds lost before surgery. My first ticker is when I hit onderland: this was my goal when I started on this journey.  I want to focus on that right now...once I get there I can reevaluate.

My second ticker is my dream goal. Even if I only visit there for a short time, it would be nice to see that number just once.  I am pretty sure I'll need plastics to hit this goal.
