Today was my pre-op appt. for my LBL next Tuesday.  I was totally calm until I pulled my car into the parking lot!  And then I thought - wow, after five years of saving and researching, etc. it is really happening!

I met with the nurse and she went over all the paperwork, answered any questions I had and took more pictures as I was down another 8 1/2 lbs. since March at my last visit.

Got my prescriptions filled and other than getting the house in order am ready for next Tuesday!  My surgery is currently scheduled for 7:15 a.m. first one of the morning so I'll have to be there by 5:15 a.m.  At least I won't be in rush hour traffic - ha!

Thanks again to everyone who has shared their journey and their pictures along the way.  It's great to have a forum to share!

Is the 8.5 pounds a fluke?  I ask because I know the surgeons I met with all insisted that my weight be stable and have been stable for a good 6 months or so.

Good luck on Tuesday!  Take some good before shots to compare for later.

Tessy -

The additional weight loss is due to training I'm doing for a cycling event this weekend (before my surgery) and eating really healthy.  I was cleared to participate as long as I don't get my electrolites(sp) out of wack.  I'm super active and normally work out 6 days a week cardio or strength and so I'm pretty muscular right now!

I did take some before pictures last week so that's checked off my list too!

How exciting!  Congratulations.  Where you are right now is fresh in my mind..I had my TT and Ba on April 19th, so I'm about 2 months out.  It's been a crazy experience.  Surreal.  Like you said, researching, daydreaming and wondering if it would ever really happen...then suddenly, there you are at the pre-op!

I wish you the best of results and a speedy recovery.  I'm sure we will see you around here afterward...asking all the same questions we all have......

If I could give you any advice at all it would be.....be patient....be realistic.....and be kind to yourself.  Allow yourself to heal, don't rush to get up and get going.

Best!

Laurie - thank you for your kind thoughts and advice.  You are right - it is surreal.  And crazy too!

I will remind myself to be patient, realistic and kind to myself.  I've read a lot on this board about how when you start to feel "better" you tend to overdo it so I will keep that in mind.

Thank you for sharing your journey for those of us who need inspiration!!
