Cyndy,

I'm having upper body lift on July 7 also!  I'm scared!  I go for pre-op on Monday, so I don't know what the doctor will give me for pain.

Good luck!

I had the anchor TT and took Demerol - I used pain killers for 3 days and didn't take them after that.   Still have about 25 left in the bottle.

I thought taking the "nekked" pictures was the worst part - even worse than the surgery and recovery!!

Good luck!

Thanks..

I have always done well with the Demerol in the past...I'm feeling pretty good it will again, especially, after reading and hearing from others, how it worked for them..

My surgeon has prescribed 40 of the 50mg...that should hold me for quite awhile..

yes the pics are scary for sure I remember cringing as I stood naked while my surgeon snapped pics of me in different positions.  terrible

And demerol is supplied in 50 and 100 mg tablets, and per dose it seems you will be able to take either 50-100 depending on your level of pain; this is a very standard dose.  Remember that all drugs are different and while 500 mgs of one med (like an extra strength tylenol) might be a standard dose, will kill you with another drug, like demerol.

Hi Christene..
I never thought of the mg being different for each drug...In my itty-bitty small brain, I was thinking mg stood for the same strength, no matter the drug, but I see what you are saying, now.
I really, just did not know, what mg the Demrol actually came in...Again, thinking 500mg of Dem would be a fair assesment...Guess that's ONE reason I'm not in the medical field..lol
GOOD THING TOO..

Thank you...

I'm with Avidreader -- the pictures traumatized me for some reason. Didn't go into it thinking I would have a problem. Sure, I wasn't looking forward to it, but I didn't realize I would have a meltdown afterwards in my car and want crawl into a corner and suck my thumb. I felt vulnerable and awkward and gross and oh my. I guess it's safe to say I'll never have a career in porn. Better keep my day job.

Truth is...I have excepted that my surgeon is there to help me be the best I can be...What he sees when he looks at me is a blank canvas, so to speak..I feel very comfortable with him and that is amazing, for I don't EVER let my husband see me naked..EVER..!!

My husband would judge me..and have this disgusting look on his face "IF" he EVER saw the REAL me, as I am Now...My husband has always had a way of making me feel less than attractive...SO, being totally naked in front of him would be VERY embarrassing...

Too..One of the nurses took my pictures...that helped, because she talked and made it all about the surgery and not about the pictures...She was great.

I can see where some would have a melt down, as you spoke of...This is a humiliating time in our lives to try and get some comfort in our own skin...and that says a lot...

Thanks for sharing..

I never thought about the before pictures until I was at my first consult with the surgeon I have choosen.  His nurse took the pictures and I kept telling myself that they see people all the time.

When I had my second post-op appt. - it was 8 mths. from the first one and I had lost more weight = more pics taken.  That time it was much more comfortable as I knew the drill.  I haven't seen them.  But I did take my own pre-surgery photos last week so I will have something to compare the healing with.

I'm sure I'll get nervous too when it is time to get all the markings on my body for my LBL.  I have a feeling there will be a lot of lines going everywhere - ha!!
