HELP! Overseas Travel: Is Fever/Swollen Lymph Nodes Normal?

Edited for clarity and update:

First - I had a tummy tuck wth muscle plication + breast lift/resconstruction on Feb 22. I flew to Europe several days ago.

A day or so prior to leaving for Europe, I started to feel some discomfort around my armpits and underneath my breasts. It had been really hot so I probably should've given it a breather but ended up wearing the garments for almost 36 hours straight, including the time that I was traveling.

During the flight, the discomfort increased and by the time I arrived I was really in pain. When I got the hotel I took the garments off immediately and noticed that my stomach area underneath my breasts was bright red and felt hot to the touch and was painful. I also noticed that the lymph nodes under my arms were really painful and I was also a bit feverish. I slept for awhile but the pain didn't really go away much. I haven't been wearing my garments much either.

UPDATE: It has been two days since I landed, and each day has been a bit better, no fever since the first day. Today I am much better, pain is almost gone, still a little red but it feels more itchy than anything. I should definitely have gone to the doctor the day I landed; I leave in two days and will see if I can go see one after the conference ends tomorrow because I am nervous about flying back.

THANKS EVERYONE and Dr. L for your advice!

I'm a month ahead of you.  There are days that I don't wear my garments.  When I swell up and it doesn't go down in a day, I'll wear it for the next 24 hrs and I'm back to a more normal look.  You may need to seek medical aid, even though you are oversees.

Where in Europe?  I'm confused.  Your garment felt too constrictive but you continued to wear it?  Are you still wearing it now?  If it's that uncomfortable and you have a fever (how high?), I would get it checked out just to be safe.

"Calor, rubor, dolor, tumor"  In latin it means heat, redness, pain, and swelling. Those are the cardinal signs of infection that doctors have recognized since the 3rd century B.C.  Highly recommend you see a doctor ASAP.

I have to admit, I am really impressed by a doctor who takes time to come online to help people!
