I'm 3 weeks out from my surgery.  How long til your thighs are not so sore?  The inside of my thighs where the incisions are have been killing me.  Did go back to work last week so wondering if I over did it, although I was VERY careful & rested.  I've had a few spots try to open up but they've dried up now & look fine.  Just wondering when I'll be able to walk comfortably again!  Haven't had a problem w/swelling so that's not the problem.  Does anybody know if you can put something on those spots to help them heal better?  Thanks!

Hi Cyndi!
I don't advise putting anything on them to heal better.  I had put antibiotic cream on my arms because I had some open spots and it caused them to not heal.  It made me keep the stitches in longer.  Are you wearing a garment?  I think that helps a lot with the soreness and sensitivity.  I had that same soreness and sensitivity with my arms and wearing the garment helped a lot!

They actually told me also not to put anything on them, just to let them dry out.  No....I'm not wearing compression garment on them because they said to let them "dry out" as much as I could.  I can't even imagine pulling on a compression garment right now!

I can understand that, but I can tell you I would have lost my mind with the increased sensitivity of my arms after my brachioplasty if I hadn't worn my garment! It really helped a lot!  I didn't wear it at night after the initial 8 week requirement, but I wore it everyday.

They just had a wrap around compression for my waist.  Then ace bandages on my thighs.  He said I didn't need the ace bandages anymore.  But it's like you described it, it's like it's hypersensitive.  I'll try to get something on them for compression & see if that helps.  Thanks!

I am 5 weeks out from my thigh lift and still have a few scabbed areas and am still very sore.  The thigh lift takes longer to heal than any other plastic surgery.  I expect it could be another 3 or 4 weeks before I am able to walk without any pain.  I still cannot squat to look at the bottom shelf at the store without it feeling like I am going to rip open.  I knew going in that this would be a longer recovery than my tummy tuck, arm lift, butt lift or breast augmentation and would do it again in a heartbeat.  I still have some swelling so my thighs still rub if I don't wear long enough pants, they feel like a heat rash at times.  My surgeon gave me a prescription antibiotic to put on the areas that tried to open up & that has healed them well.  Give it time, I am already thrilled with how much better mine look.

Hey Cyndi...

I don't know if this is a good idea for you or not...but when I had my first child I had natural child birth>>not by choice, but I was torn from front to back...if you know what I mean...
Anyway...I remember how wonderful I felt when they would put a heat lamp on my bottom...I looked soooo forward to that each day...When I went home I continued the heat lamp and i healed quickly...and all the sensitivity went away quickly, as well...just a thought...Don't know if it would hel*****t or if you woud even be intrested...

Hope you feel better soon..!!

I was back to walking normal at about 3 weeks. Was actually out at the club and doing other activities at that time. I have 2 spots on the top of each thigh where all the incisions come together that were open. My surgeon told me to just keep them covered w/ gauze until they healed. I had compression garments that I wore until about 6 weeks out. At 7 weeks I was back at the gym doing full workouts w/ weights w/o any problems.

You wore the compression garment even with the open spots?  I guess you just covered them w/guaze then put the compression garment over the guaze?  How did you secure the guaze?  I tried some tape & guaze last week & it did feel better but then it came off & I couldn't keep it on.  Thanks so much for the advice!

I do have the one spot at the top of the crack (if you know what I mean), hard place to keep dry!  I'll see about the heat lamp!  Sounds like it may help to dry it out!
