Wake-Up, Wake-Up...??
I haven't had any surgeries (yet) except having my gallbladder removed (lap). I had GA, and I do remember when I was waking up I kept dozing back off. It made me feel panicky, because I still felt so sedated that I felt like I would stop breathing as I dozed back off. ....which made me jerk back awake gasping for breath. It went on for hours, and now I dread being put back under when it comes time for my DS. If I could get that done with an epidural I would! I think, and I do not know if this is possible since I'm no doctor nor a nurse, but when I get GA again I am going to ask if they can give me Narcan when I start to wake up to see if it can counter the sedation.
There are some really good drugs they can give you now for nausea (in your IV and before and after surgery). Talk with them about the nausea for sure. They must have given me some really good stuff because I don't remember the recovery room or the ride home!

I have a new philosophy, I'm only going to dread one day at a time. Charlie Brown
I actually had no nausea until they got me up out of bed. The same thing happened after my RNY sugery & last csection. I would start dry heaving real bad and then waves of nausea w/severe light headedness. They actually said they think it's from the morphine. May ask to try something different afterwards for round 2.
