"I typically do lots of things to prevent rashes, so I don't have them right now..."

Above in red are your very own words.  It seems VERY simple to me.  STOP doing whatever it is you are doing to PREVENT the rash!!!  If that's the case, no problem.

I didn't have to allow myself to practice "poor" hygiene to get a rash.  In fact, I made "sure" that I practiced the BEST hygiene.  I think there is nothing worse, or more embarrassing, than standing next to someone who doesn't take care of themselves.  I realize that some people can't help it because of their size - I've experienced that with loved ones and it's sad.  I believe that the rashes come from air not being able to circulate through the problem area, and it stays too moist.  At least that was the case for me.

I have a question for you.  Why would you want to deliberately decieve your surgeon?  Isn't that dishonesty?  And would you want your surgeon to deliberately be dishonest with you - about anything?  Just asking.  Trust me, I do understand the extra, hanging skin.  I'm there.  However, I believe in honesty - especially with your physicians.  In due time, it will all work out for you anyway.

I hope that you understand my thoughts.  I wish the very best and much success for you!

How dare you?   Really, to deceive your doctor, your insurance, your surgeon.  All of those people that struggle with rashes, and not because they made them... how disrespectful!   I paid my way, and many do, but no wonder American plastic surgeons have to charge so much to make up for fraud.   I think hanging your head in shame might be the better idea.

I thank you both for your honest comments and I apologize for my post.  You are correct that going about things this way is not the best way to do this and I clearly did not express myself well.  I certainly do not believe that poor hygiene is the only way to get a rash!  I suffer from rashes under my breasts, under my arms, and around my belly button all the time, and have not been able to find a way to prevent them.  I *have* been lucky enough to able to prevent daily rashes under my lower belly skin to this point (with baby powder, cortisone, shorts under my clothes), and I would rather not stop doing those things to cause myself to have to have real rashes.  But you are correct that I should not "fake" anything for my doctors, and I will follow your advice and just let the rashes happen naturally, which they will.  I just get impatient and am so tired of all this extra skin, so wish that things could go faster.  Thanks again for your honest feedback.

You're welcome Tina.  Somehow, I didn't think you were a dishonest person. :)  We all get impatient - at least I did as well.  From the regimine you've listed, that you must go through to "prevent"  the rashes, it's clear that you do have a problem.  Allow it (rash) to happen naturally, and take your own photos in between the office visits.  Documentation is most important - through your own photos, as well as through the physicians notes and statements.

All the best to you.  Be sure that keep us posted as to your progress and dates of surgery.  I'd love to hear your success stories.  :)

God bless!
