Plastic Surgeons in Seattle/Olympia/Tacoma/Portland?
For those of you who live in the Pacific Northwest, do you have any recommendations of plastic surgeons? Did you chose one that specializes in bariatric patients? Basically I'm looking for a few surgeons to start checking out, tho plastics would be a ways out for me. I figure you can never be too prepared!
I know I can do a search here on OH, but I would rather hear from people personally on posts.
I live in Olympia , but am willing to look a little outside my area... Seattle, Bellevue, Portland, etc.

I live in Oregon and had trouble finding someone who specialized in weight loss surgery patients. I understand that there are three in the Seattle/Federal Way area but not sure of their fees. I understand Dr Egari is excellent as well as Dr. Gavin Dry and Dr. Braden Stridde (?). You can go onto their websites as see befores/afters. I just had a consult with Dr. Michael Bohley in Portland and am going to have him do my facelift, etc. and maybe other surgeries. I was very impressed with his professionalism and knowledge. I may go to Phoenix, AZ to have rest of body work as I am there during the winter. Hope this helps.

I'm in Oly too, and while we have some decent plastic surgeons here, they have told me themselves that post bariatric is not their specialty. You really need someone that is.
I didn't click with Dr Egrari, but thought the work of Dr Dry was really beautiful. I couldn't afford to have everything done with him, otherwise he'd have been my pick.

I had an extended TT along with hernia repair, by Dr. Thakar at Oregon Health Sciences University in Portland, Oregon, this past December. There are many that do post-bariatric patients there, but I feel she stands out in the group of them, and was recommended to me by others. When I first saw her, she ran a tests to show how my protein levels were, as she said that this would show whether she would do the TT at the same time as the hernia repair. I can't remember the name of the test, but it shows a several month trend in protein, not just the current protein value. She said if it was low, she wouldn't do the TT, as it's an elective procedure and she has seen many patients go into plastics with low protein levels and have more trouble with wound infections. I appreciated her integrity in doing this, thinking about my recovery and not just making a buck. She is both highly skilled, personable, and offered me unbelievable pain relief with the TT. She used "On Q" pumps for the TT, which I would highly recommend with anyone you go with. Basically, the pumps are inserted following surgery, just a small tube coming out of each hip at the incision. They literally bathed the wound, and ran out about 5 days later. and then were removed. (Hardly felt the tube being pulled out.) I liked that they didn't mess with my head, but went right to the pain site. The hernia surgeon who operated at the same time, was a whole different story. He was not familiar with these pumps and tried many different meds to try and achieve pain relief from the hernia site. If he had used that pump, I would have been in a much better situation with pain control following surgery. I do have fibromyalgia, so pain control is more of an issue for me.
In the next few weeks or so, I am going to have an adrenalectomy, and if able, Dr. Thakar will be doing a medial thigh lift at the same time,if possible. I would'nt have considered doing these surgeries together, if it wasn't for my faith in her.
I realize this would be a distance for you, but she is definitely worth the drive!
Good luck in you search.

Dr. Phillip Kierney in Puyallup is excellent for tummy tucks and breast augmentation. His prices are also reasonable compared to some of the surgeons in Seattle. I am really happy with my TT and BA. I elected to find someone else to do my butt and thigh lift because his specialty is not weight loss surgery and I wanted someone who was skilled with those kind of patients. If I was you I would check him out. He is real meticulous and a perfectionist and his staff is wonderful. I went to Mexico and had Dr. Sauceda do a butt flap augmentation and thigh lift.
