So sorry both of you are in pain!! I think you're making me glad I can't really afford a facelift for a long time (I hate pain). I hope both of you are feeling better soon!!

Sassi, who did you facelift and how long took the surgery?

VSG on 04/29/09

Dr. Juan Luque in Mexicali Mexico did my surgery. I believe he said 4 hours.

Can anyone help me with what is going on behind my ears? Now I have a really thick scab
there and it's making it difficult to turn my head. The staples have really causes a big sore back there,

Dr. Luque told me to keep Neosporin on it and put gauze over it to keep it moist. Well I have been doing that but today I woke up and it's worse today. The scab is really hard and thick.

I see the dr. tomorrow. I can't wait. I am not sure this is normal.

How long did they keep you in the clinic after your surgery? Do you receive any aftercare clinic or it is your regular doctor who take care of any problems?

I was in the hospital for one night. It's a full hospital. I could have stayed longer but chose to go home with my friend who lives here and is a nurse. I have seen Dr. Luque almost every day or his nurse in his office. Tomorrow he will take the stictches out and Wed. he will take the staples out.
He is wonderful. I adore him.

Dr. S did my neck lift so I also had scars behind my ears. He doesn't use staples, sounds awful with staples. He did put ointment on them, and guaze, but I found the ointment built over a few weeks and were like scabs, but were ointment scabs. Sorry I'm not much help :(

Now he uses a neosporin spray that is much better than the ointment! I bought the ointment for my scars later since it has Retinol in it!

Oh my! Staples! In the head? Ouch! I can't help you with the scab. I am not having any problems with my ears. I have very small stitches. My eyes are itchy and my neck hurts a lot but he said he had to pull everything really tight in the neck so he knew it would hurt.

No, he uses stitches! Here is a picture of me taken today. The head garment is much better than gauze.
