Lower body lift expectations
I am 3 days post op from arm lift and tummy tuck. I had anchor incision ( 9 inches from sternum to pubic area and 21 inches from buttock across pelvic area to other buttock.) I haven't measured on my arms but would guess 12 inches per to arm.
I have had appendectomy, hysterectomy, open gallbladder with liver tumor resection and 2 lap abdominal procedures.
I have to say this TT has been very painful. The PS said he went down 4 inches and really pulled my muscles. I had a 4 hour drive home from overnight in the hospital and it was grueling to sit up and get out of car every hour to walk and use restroom.
I sleep in an electric bed at home ( due to nausea problem before RNY) and this bed has been a lifesaver.
Loose clothing is a must. Because of arm lift I can't put anything over my head or use my arms much to help with lifting of moving.
I don't think I could have done a lower body lift or thigh lift with these two surgeries. Maybe it's just beause I hurt so much - but right now I don't think I will have the lower body lift.
I am 61 years young!
Best wishes.

Thank you so much for sharing, I had bracioplasty and breast reduction together in February, it was not painful but very hard to be so unable to do anything and loss of the use of your arms is hard to go through, I had my family feeding me! but after about 10 days when the swelling went down I was doing much better -no pain just difficult.
Thanks again :)
Thanks again :)
Once the scabs come off from the LBL, it's not too bad. Everything for me is numb on both sides of the incision. I had more problems with my arms than the LBL. As the scabbing and stitches are healing.... they itch like crazy. I had to get benedryl.

I had my LBL on Thursday, so I'm only 3 days post-op. To be honest, it sucks! It's not unbearable, but it is so hard to get comfortable. (I also had a butt agumentation at the same time, so I can't really recline in a recliner as I'm not supposed to put direct pressure on the top of my butt.)
I agree that the incisions don't hurt so much and that it's more the ab muscles. I did take a drink of water earlier and it went down wrong and had to cough and that hurt like an almighty mother ******! DON'T DO THAT if you can help it! I'm working on weaning off the pain meds and hadn't taken anything other than Tylenol for 6 hours until I coughed. Then I popped one of those suckers!
I'm able to move around a bit using my arms and legs instead of my torso muscles, but I do need help lowering myself into a lying/reclining position. I'm very tired and weak.
So, it sucks, but it's bearable and it is a smidge better each day. I just remind myself that tomorrow will be a smidge better and I'm telling myself that in a couple of weeks I'll be glad I did it!
Good luck to you!

Hey, I was sooooooo anxious before the surgery and I am so happy to say it was the easiest recovery I was back to work in 2 weeks and swimming for the rest of the summer with my kids in 6 weeks, I think my healing was really improved by the use of the herbal medicine arnica montana, ask your plastic surgeon about it I did and he gave it to me you take it the day of surgery and 2 days latter I think and I healed so fast it was amazing I learned about it on some web site called make me heal .com, I would be happy to help you with any other questions and good luck ( btw I was 39 at the time of surgery)
