Day 2 after Brachio & TT

It has been a rough couple of days.  I feel so useless!  TT is so tight and painful.  I have 4 drains and the pain pump tubing.

Surgeon did anchor cut and said he went 4 inches deep - whatever that means.  My arms are wrapped in ace bandages and I can't extend, reach back or reach up.  Hard to brush teeth, hair, or reach for anything.

Taking oral pain meds and had some IV Torodol in hospital.

The 4 hour drive home was grueling.  Stopping every hour to walk-  in  pouring rain and deal with all the tubing the in restrooms -  DH had to pull pants down & up, etc.

Doing better today.

I see surgeon Tues, and hope to get drains out.

I will update later.

Hang in there. It really does get better, and usually quickly. I felt like a whole new person once the drains came out, and you will probably feel markedly better once they are gone.

All the best to you in your recovery!

My surgeon had my arms bound tight with ace bandages up to my fingertips to prevent swelling.  I walked around like a mummy the first 3 days.  My kids made so much fun of me...lol. I got my drains out on day 3 and he let me unwrap my forearms then (I just wore compression sleeves after that).  Things were much better after that.  I felt good enough to back to work after 10 days, but I am a teacher and had another week off after that for Christmas break.

Hope you get your drains out soon!!

Sending hugs - very gentle ones!

Yeah, the first couple days are ROUGH! But after that you do improve more quickly. It will be a huge help when you get your arms unwrapped and the drains out. It will be so much easier to get around that you'll find many things improve just from that.

Hi Sweetie..Sorry, you're not feeling too special at the moment and hoping you feel much, much better, real soon..!! That tight, painful tummy is going to be tight enough to pop a coin up, soon, and you're going to have a great big smile for EVERYONE when it happens...

Take care sweetheart..!

Oh I feel for you, that was me a few weeks ago.  I also had to drive 3 hours home and was a mess by the time we made it to our house.

Take it easy, it does get better.  And don't try to do too much.  I felt bad asking my husband to do so much for me so I tried to do a few things and ended up with some wound separation in my underarm area.  Actually it's a pretty big area right now that I need to pack with gauze, but it is healing.

You'll feel better when the drains come out and as each day goes on, so just hang in there.
