To anyone who has had a face lift

How long did it take for you to be back to normal? I mean for the swelling and bruising to be at least mostly gone?

I have the bandage that is tight and goes around my chin and around my head. It has to be kept tight. How long did you have to wear that?

I can't wait to get the staples out. That tight bandage makes them dig into my head and ears. ouch!

I know what u mean, I wore the compression garment for 1 week 24/7 then 2 weeks to bed only, swelling gone about 2 weeks

Yep I am still here in Mexicali until June 2 . I am staying with our friend. It's not been fun so far cause it's been more painful than I expected. As soon as they take these staples out of my head
I'll feel like going and seeing some sights. I didn't want to go home with a lot of swelling and bruising so I am lucky to have a friend that lives here!

So sorry the pain is worse than expected!! How do you normally do with pain? I'm pretty good with it and plan to take all my pain meds on schedule (like I did with my RNY) so I'm hoping it will be bearable.

Hi! I had a face, neck, and lower eye lift about 2 1/2 months ago. I wore the same type compression garment you have full time the first two weeks and then at night for another two weeks. I went back to work after two weeks and didn't look too swollen. The surgeon said it would be up to three months before the visible swelling was gone and six months before the inside was healed. I didn't have stitches - they used glue. Good luck with your healing.

You had the same things done as I did.

I am having trouble with the back of my ears. They are running goopy stuff . I know TMI
Saw the doctor yesterday and he told me to put Neosporin on it 3x a day. Because of that, he changed the day I get my stitches out. I was supposed to get them out tomorrow, Now they will be taken out Monday but the staples have to stay in until
Wednesday. he likes them in there for 2 full weeks. It's the staples that are driving me insane!

The compression thing is keeping the back of my ears all wet and soggy with the Neosporin on there. It doesn't have a chance to dry out. very annoying!

Dr Sauceda does stitches, behind the ears, they were still annoying with the compression garment. I had to wear it 24/7 for 10 days, then nightly for 6mo for the chin. I'm still wearing it at night. I have one that doesn't bind the ears too much, it's just difficult to get all the straps hooked up right. Once the back of the ears healed, it was better. It did take several weeks for the scabs to all heal. I'm a little over 4 mo out now. I think my face was bruised for 4+ weeks. I also had a hard knot in my cheek, that I kept massaging to break down the scar tissue. I'm starting to get feeling back on the edges in front of my ears and along my chin.

Thank you! I hope my scabs heal more quickly than that. That is the most annoying part of all of this. That and the staples digging into my head.

Did you get that hard knot to go away?
